Using tiger plants as base defense viable?

I was wondering if they attack other creatures or just the player.
But i like the idea of having a bunch of these spread out around the base to prevent hostile creatures getting too close.

Thoughts?

Nice idea!

The only problem is that they don't attack you in the alien containment, but if you put them outside they will attack you!

Also don't know if they attack everything :(

I have seen them shoot many things so i would guess they shoot everything. Not sure if you can get seeds from them or not but i like your idea.

Yeah you can get seeds from them and plant them in an outdoor planting thingy.

I am also trialling this - now I have the tough suit the thorns don't penetrate so they aren't a risk to the survivor

After testing, can confirm tiger plant grown in outdoor planters attack nearby fauna.

Yes but they damage you, though very slowly.

Once you have the tough suit (can't remember is proper in game name) they can't hurt you - the PRAWN is definitely tiger-plant proof!

Not if you wear the reinforced armor dive suit that reduces all incoming damage by 50% (note: some attacks will still insta-kill you). With that armor on, the tigerplant's spikes cannot harm you, and as such, it's best to avoid them until you have said armor on.

My tiger plant hedge has proved an excellent anti-gasopod defence! The only predator ! have driven off so far was a single stalker.
