How do you find out of the floating island in the first place?
i mean... i played the game.. i got very far ahead.. (seen some wierd stuff)
but there wasnt a bit of story line that led me to the location of this place..
which has the main building stractures requared for a lot of blueprint i already found and didnt know how to build (the multipurpuse room for example)...

so.. what about this?!

An automated message from the Aurora will tell you that there is a landmass 750m south of it. Which is the one being kept up by the floaters

will it be marked as a beacon on the map? or should i guess it from the text?

It gets marked.
You can also teleport to it "coincidentally".

It does not get marked. The message is from Commander Keen (old school video game reference there) and says the rendezvous point will be at a detected landmass 750m south of the crash site. The only problem is the floating island isn't 750m south of the crash site. It's more like west by southwest of the crash site.

There are two markers for the mountain island. The energy signature marker comes when you explore the Aurora and tap into the data recording on the bridge. The second marker comes from the ill fated Sunbeam after they alert you through the messages to meet them at a hazardous landing site on the mountain island.

If you explore the mountain island, there is a teleporter which takes you to the floating island.

I first found the floating island while exploring, randomly. I surfaced to charge my Seamoth's solar panels, and while coasting on the surface noticed the island on the horizon.

The easiest way to find the floater island is to swim (or glide or seamoth) paralel to the ship and toward the engine side. You will see some things hovering in the air before the island appears. For some reason the buildings show up at a greater distance than the ground. Here's a map that will most likely help you a bit. http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/subnautica/images/0/04/Biome_Map_(2).gif/revision/20151202191006

You can also see a shimmering on the horizon for both the floating island and the mountain island. Just keep swimming towards that and you're golden.

If you peruse the horizon you can actually see the islands 'fogged over' to the north and south. But, without a compass how do you tell north and south? Why.. the nose of the aurora (or what's left of it) points roughly in the northish direction and the engins point tot he south, almost directly at the floating island.

the area in to the left of the sunset is where the mountain island is.

Her's another good look at what the 'fog' or 'haze' where the islands are looks like:

What I did was jumping through the portal at the huge alien gun,, and dropped a beacon. then jumped back through it. went back to my base and took the seamoth there.

both "islands" should be around 1500-2000m from each other.
