Can't drop an egg into the alien containment......

I realize this question has already been asked before because I googled it. Didn't find a solution to my problem though.
I have a grassy plateaus egg in my inventory, I enter the module through the hatch but I cannot drop the egg.
I can drop fish but not the egg I want to drop.

Does the module not take certain eggs, is there something wrong with my egg? I know I have to open the inventory and right click the egg, I'm not trying to put it in the planter.

I would try taking a few of your fish out first, just put them in your inventory, and then try to drop the egg. I've never had a problem, except when it opens to the planter. But I have always made sure I had room for new fish by removing some reginalds first. If that doesn't work then go find a stalker egg in the kelp forest and try to drop that. See if it's just the single one you have or if it is all eggs.

How many other creatures are in your Alien Containment? There is a limit to how much you can put in it.

It's probably ^this but if it's not, be advised that not all the creature eggs are finished yet, some are still in development. It's possible that unfinished eggs can't be dropped because they'll just sit there forever and never hatch.

This is the answer I would go with, and I do know for sure that the 'grassy plateaus egg' is unfinished content.

The problem with your theory is that the Grassy Plateaus Egg was only recently added.
