Reaper by mushroom forest?
I hear theres a reaper by one of the mushroom forests, Ive been playing subnautica for a while now, and I still get nervous everytime I go near one. Im currently on my second playthrough and have a seamoth, and I want to complete the cyclops before I go to the aroura. So could somebody please tell me which forest its by? The one near the aroura or the one behind the shallows? Please it would help me a lot.

You are safe in both mushroom forests. There is a reaper in the chasm close to the aurora "near" the mushroom forest, but it's not in the mushroom forest.

Besides, there is nothing to fear from a reaper unless you are swimming naked. If you let one sneak up on your Seamoth he may grab it. But unless your Seamoth is already majorly damaged it will release you and you can then escape.

Also, you should make going to the Aurora your number 1 priority before doing anything else. Fix the reactor and eliminate the radiation. Plus you should pick up the pressure compensator and storage upgrades for the Seamoth immediately. Also pick up the efficiency module for the Cyclops. It takes a while to build the Cyclops, and the Cyclops is totally pointless for a trip to the Aurora.

not really cuz it is protected from reapers and I dont have to worry about a reaper stealing my moth. also I need to go there to build the prawn

You don't need to worry about reapers. They won't steal your Seamoth. They are scary looking, but not really dangerous.

There is a small patch of mushroom forest east of the mountain island where reapers often appear. The eastern mushroom forest you may see one off in the distance if you get right up to the dunes border, similarly the western forest you need to go right up to the aurora to see one. Of course, you may not be able to see it because those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spend most of their time under the map. You should bring a stasis rifle in case of bone sharks anyway though, they're almost impossible to see in the forest.

I usually get my cyclops bridge and hull frags from the eastern forest because I can hit up the underwater island, mushroom, and two grassy wrecks in quick succession that way, but I believe the frags are in the western one as well if you'd prefer an alternate itinerary.

Say what now? Reapers will most definitely steal, damage and possibly destroy your Seamoth. I've lost three Seamoths to Reapers (in ~200 hours of play).

yeah Im afraid to park my moth on the ramp cuz ive heard of reapers coming up and dragging them down

also on the map, which way is north? the aroura or the opposite direction? or where the sun sets or where it rises? I know the sun rises in the east in real life, but subnautica is an alien planet

It will be fine. There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

If you are really that scared, just don't take the Seamoth. But nothing will happen even if you do take it. Unless of course you are teasing a reaper and lead him there.

front of the aurora points north northeast

If reapers are an issue, the lovely defense system is a simple solution - you don't even have to use the full blast - the smallest charge drive them away...

I admit I stayed away from them at first, but if they really bother you - just do the "invisible" cheat in the console and go hang out with them, scan them etc - you will get used to them.

IK the pds but i need a moonpool and a vms, which I have not a single blueprint scanned of, for either, so thats not happening for a while...

On Subnautica the sun rises in the north and sets in the south.

yeah but I prefer not to cheat in survival, i have done this in creative and I have 0% fear of them when invisible, but it goes up to about 90% fear when not invis
