Not sure if it works right now because you can't cure it now (development state)?
edit:

Oh no..does that mean I can´t get rid of the infection and I will inevitably look like a zombie?
I really wonder how they can put in such a feature when it isn´t completed yet.
Obraxis has mentioned more than once that the storyline of the game will be largely optional.
Ok thx for the advice. What do I need to type in btw?
@OP: If you've used cheats in the past, you'll know how to open the debug console, if not, it's F1 to open some menu or other where you can enable the dev console with a tickbox near the top, then the ~ key to actually open the console. Then type in 'cure 1'. That should cure you of the carar.
He gives OP a perfect description for using Google and you say he's not helpful?
Thx Highlander, that was all I wanted to know.
Teach a man to fish and he never goes hungry again.
Sure, I could have given him that one command. Then next time he needs another command, he has to come back here, make a new thread, and wait how long for a helpful response?
Or I could show him where to find the information for himself (including full instructions on using the console to begin with, which is not as simple as it is in many other games) and next time he needs help he can have it within seconds without having to rely on others.
We just have different definitions of "helping".
Not to mention:
Technically that's incorrect. You just need "cure". With "cure 1" you're curing yourself and any other infected creatures within a 1 meter radius. Sure, it will still work, but it's not entirely accurate.
See that's the problem with relying on other people to do your work for you - you can't rely on them to give you accurate info - much better to get your info straight from the source.
Not to mention, if like me, most times I am on the forums, i am between trailer moves at work, or making the boys jelous. Since i am on my phone, i would rather direct someone to google the wiki, and get all their answers and what is available with the debug. Then to spend 10 minutes trying to load web pages.
