I´m infected..will it be deadly?
As the title says, I´ve got infected by one of the crabs ontop of the floating island.
So now I´m curious what will happen? Will I die at some point?

The bacteria killed 4 billion till now, so yes, you also gonna die!
Not sure if it works right now because you can't cure it now (development state)?

Hmm, but I´ve read that there is some sort of a lab where we are supposed to head to in order to cure it.

while the animations on the Carar are complete, you can't die from it yet, thats coming towards the end, the lab where you get the cure is not finsihed yet, its the Primary Reasearch Facilty in the Lava Zone,

Oh no..does that mean I can´t get rid of the infection and I will inevitably look like a zombie?
I really wonder how they can put in such a feature when it isn´t completed yet.

There's no time-limit involved, the game is endless by design. All you get is creepy-looking hands, as that's the only rendered part of the player model with visible skin, and that can be covered up with the gloves from the Radiation Suit.

Obraxis has mentioned more than once that the storyline of the game will be largely optional.

You can cure self with console commands. That's how you deal with incomplete features in general.

Ok thx for the advice. What do I need to type in btw?

You type in "Subnautica Wiki Console" (in Google).

Do you have some sort of allergy to being helpful?

@OP: If you've used cheats in the past, you'll know how to open the debug console, if not, it's F1 to open some menu or other where you can enable the dev console with a tickbox near the top, then the ~ key to actually open the console. Then type in 'cure 1'. That should cure you of the carar.

'helpful' would be actually telling him what to do, not saying essentially 'F*** you, go do it yourself'.

An Internet connection isn't meant to be only used for vidya gaems, YouTube, and porn.

Thx Highlander, that was all I wanted to know.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day.

Teach a man to fish and he never goes hungry again.

Sure, I could have given him that one command. Then next time he needs another command, he has to come back here, make a new thread, and wait how long for a helpful response?

Or I could show him where to find the information for himself (including full instructions on using the console to begin with, which is not as simple as it is in many other games) and next time he needs help he can have it within seconds without having to rely on others.

We just have different definitions of "helping".

Not to mention:

Technically that's incorrect. You just need "cure". With "cure 1" you're curing yourself and any other infected creatures within a 1 meter radius. Sure, it will still work, but it's not entirely accurate.

See that's the problem with relying on other people to do your work for you - you can't rely on them to give you accurate info - much better to get your info straight from the source.

Not to mention, if like me, most times I am on the forums, i am between trailer moves at work, or making the boys jelous. Since i am on my phone, i would rather direct someone to google the wiki, and get all their answers and what is available with the debug. Then to spend 10 minutes trying to load web pages.
