Storage Locker Empty?
Hey guys, just started playing this again after many months and started a new game. I filled up a storage locker with a bunch of titanium ingots and now its empty. Is this a bug or...?

There is a bug currently in the game that makes Floating Storage Lockers act like trash bins. Build a base and use normal lockers instead.
That's it. I'm starting a new list of links to existing threads for peeps who don't use Search before starting a new thread. :steamhappy:

C'mon it's the one thing I'm good at - let me list. LET ME LIST!

Awesome, thanks guys. Just wanted to check in real quick to see what the status of the game was as I didn't encounter this in the past, still having a ton of fun with some of the new features though!
How is this bug acceptable? This seems near game-breaking for early start

In all honesty, floating lockers are really only used by new players who don't know any better. Bug are perfectly acceptable in early access games. In fact they are expected and if you can't discover a new one then you aren't worth your salt. Okay that last part was a joke. It's hardly game breaking since you can just open up the console and spawn in anything that was lost. While it can be a surprise the first time you see it and it might take you all of 20 minutes spawning in your items, it hardly stops the game. You just build your base sooner, which is really what you should have been doing all along. One of the first steps in survival is shelter. :)

Not really. I returned to this game after several months recently and found out the multipurpose room is now unlocked through blueprints, so unless you rush for those and know exactly where to find them, you are most certainly going to have more items than you can carry/store in the lifepod.

You can put lockers in corridors, too, and you have access to both right at the start.
Expecting people to use a search bar on a community hub is worse than asking them to use google. Not gonna happen. new thread is easier.

Just a reality. Should be used to it by now.

On the other hand, stupidity should never be praised or encouraged. It should be corrected. And unless there is a limit to how nasty we are allowed to be about it, I don't think any of the regulars have a problem with doing so. Yet.

Wouldnt call it stupidity tho.
Its a combination of laziness and just wanting your own personal situation evaluated, as opposed to someone elses.
I really dont find it to be so intrusive.

Not reading the very visible sticky thread is the same really.
"I'd have to read all of this to find anything that even vaguely applies? Meh. New thread."

And fact of the matter is that its effective.

EDIT: What i mean by effective is that theres people clearly hanging around this hub willing to help people. like most hubs. Just let em instead of people like cougar making these condescending lists of mockery lel.

No it isn't. Have you seen the multitudes of multiplayer and co-op threads on here? People don't get answers without getting bashed about it along the way, if even at all. Unless you love looking like a complete idiot for the sake of getting a single answer you could easily get on your own without all of the embarrassment and/or hard feelings, that is the definition of stupidity right there.

You don't need a multipurpose room. You can have a base with corridors and cross pieces. You can put lockers on the walls with charging stations, a modification station, and whatever else you want. Only things like alien containment, big reactors, or water filtration requires a multipurpose room. You can put hanging plant shelves up on the walls and grow your marblemelons from them or a plant pot for a tree or Chinese potatoes.

Also, you really don't want to collect tons of resources at the beginning of the game. You want what you need only. You shouldn't collect a bunch of stuff you don't need and is readily available, it's a waste that early. Once you build your base, even if it is a temp one by your lifepod, then you can start to collect for things like your future base or the next vehicle.

While you can use floating lockers, as you might just like having them hanging round, they don't hold a lot and can cause a lot of clutter. When you're through with them you don't get the titantium back from them like you do wall lockers. You can't use them indoors so they outlive their usefulness.
started playing for the first time today on 19 April 2017 - the WaterProof Locker is STILL deleting items. I'm curious as to how I'm suppose to play the game with my storage space being unavailable UNTIL I build a underwater base? The developers should have this fixed by now instead of focusing on other updates. This is a basic necessity.

It is incredibly easy to get the multipurpose room to start your underwater base. As soon as you get the scanner you can get the room. It's not game breaking in anyway. The fix is coming in the next update
