Great Stalker Tooth Farming Method
Okay, so I know their are some people out there that don't quite understand how or when stalker drop teeth. So first I'll explain that, then I will explain the method.

So stalkers have (estimated percentage from observation) a 15% chance to drop a tooth when they interact with something, such as eat, attack you (they need to actually deal damage though) or pick up scrap. Which means that the most effective farming method is with scrap.

On to the method.

1: Find a stalker stash. This is easy just drop a chunk of scrap near a stalker and follow it, where they drop the scrap is typically their stash.

2: Load up on scrap. You want at least 3 pieces of scrap at one time to make this faster.

3: Drop the scrap about 10-15 Meters away from the stalkers stash. this way he thinks that its not in thier stash and move it to their stash.

4: Pick up the scrap and move it. You want to place it in the same spot you placed it before.

5: Rinse and repeat. Do this method until you have the amount of teeth you need.

NOTE: This is easier if you aren' too close to more than one stalker because eache stalker has their own stash so you might get confused as to where your scrap went.

Hope this helps!

Hm, i used multiple stalkers for this job, as they steal the metal from each other. This rises the ratio of tooth drops. And one metal will be reused for ever.

This way i got 7 tooth before i had the scanner.

Where I was the stalker stashes were VEEEERY seperated so it would have been harder for me to use more than one.

I just go to where the creepvines grow by the safe shallows. It has stalkers and scrap. I can collect more teeth there in a few minutes than I can ever use in game.

thats just the thing, the closest creepvine area is veeery expansive and spread out. so the stalkers are also spread out as a result, its a great place to build a base lots of open sand.

i once had a stalker pick up and drop the same piece of scrap in the same spot but his tooth drop rate was so low, but it was funny he was determined to attack the scrap like a seal playing with a ball, even ignored me i could get close to him without fear, it was the funniest thing ever.

Yeah, it's easier to farm stalker teeth now. Before the latest patch, I had to hatch a bunch of stalkers and make a special cave/room to have them in with some scrap. Gave all the stalker teeth I ever needed that way but took quite a bit of resources and time to accomplish (most of the time was spent on digging the hole and shaping it to my desire).

Now I can just stay in a stalker infested areas and just keep on tossing scrap at them and get all the stalker teeth I'll ever need in like 20 minutes.

Lil trick to have a pet stalker. Have a Peeper in your hand and feed it to them, then they will bring scrap to you. Keep feeding them peepers and they'll keep bringing you scrap and, hopefully, teeth.

This is a major thread necro, but it's much easier now to farm them than it used to be. Bin, you replied to a coment from last March.

Just build a scanner room and pilot one of the camera drones into some nearby stalkers. They will play with it endlessly and drop teeth. You can then set the scanner room to search for the teeth, and you'll get yellow circles on your hud showing you where each one is. You'll gather more than you need for the whole game in minutes.

I had one where they kept dropping it off a small cliff, so it was pretty much automated. I just had to wait.
I must just be having AWFUL luck because I've been doing this for a good 45 minutes (NO EXAGGERATION) and still haven't seen or heard one drop.

Find where a group of them hang out and look for teeth. If you don't see any drop a couple of pieces of metal for them to play with.

If you don't have a scanner room yet, it can help to use a Propulsion Cannon. The frount end of it twists when you point it at something it can grab, even if you can see the thing because it's hidden in the long grass.

If you grab the wrong thing, either pocket it or put it somewhere out of the way so you don't have the problem if it twice.

If you have a scanner room give the cameras to the stalkers and you will soon have lots of teeth.

If you don't have a scanner room go for a swim in the ravines where the creepvine grows and you should find a few scattered around.
