Haven't found a ground level entrance I was able to squeeze through , but this is how I got in.
The first shot shows a rupture in the hull, on the west side of the wreck. The opening is directly behind the reticle.

When you enter, turn left and you'll see this:

Enter the door at the bottom, strafe left a little and turn to look under the platform. There is an air shaft behind the fin in this pic:

Follow the shaft and you come out into the lowest room.
If you are a slow explorer, like I am, take extra air.

So yeah I can only second the suggestion to take extra air along and add the advise NOT to scan the prawn fragments for the blueprint.
