What's the purpose of cyclop's honk?

As far as i'm aware it doesn't do anything right now. So why do we even have it?
Is it going to do something in the future?

It calls Reefbacks to you - but only during mating season.

Tip: Don't blow the Cyclops horn during Reefback mating season - it never ends well.

At the moment it has no use but for... well just for the sake of being there. I thought it was used to ward of Reapers when I first got the game. I was VERY wrong. *Crash Zone Flashbacks*

Aside from communicating with Reefbacks is is also supposedly able to scare Reaper Leviathans if you sound the horn after you hear one.
