Food prep station?

Do we know if a kitchen or food preparation station is on the works? It is more of a quality of life tool, but I find it a bit off putting using the same bench for nuclear reactor rods, and curing fish... it's just not right. Also, a fridge to conserve cooked fish and harvested fruits would be neat!

In theory you could just have two (or more) Fabricators in your base, and use one only for food prep.

With a little imagination you could set up a kitchen-like room that you only use for kitchen activities, using furniture you scanned on board the Aurora. Put down some counters, a table or two, some shelves for spices and dry goods, the Water Purifier, etc.

not the kitchen but being able to make those nutrient blocks would be nice, there's no recipe for it right?

The devs were planning on adding recipes for a long time - it was on their Trello "To Do:" list for more than a year - but it's gone now, they probably had to prioritize and it didn't make the cut.

Guess I'll have to settle for that. Is just a bit weird, "cooking" fish in a replicator... the little beams construct the fish from scratch and poof, there it is! At least the water has to be properly processed using its proper station to be consumed. Surrounded by nature, in an ocean world, resorting to both my intelectual and physical capabilities, but my food is sort of Soylent-ish. Not to mention the capability to store and preserve food. Guy has technology to suspend animate living objects in stasis, and artificial gravity, yet does not have a way to store food effectively.

I mean, there is a message you get from your PDA that says that flavoring your food with local spices would increase the flavor and nutrient count. Hopefully that means there will be food prep and a larger array of food choices.
