There are two entrances, one in the Dunes and one in the Blood Kelp Zone. I've been using the Blood Kelp Zone.
The Blood Kelp Zone enterance is a tight but tons of room to move around in still, make sure to use the Cyclops Cameras as you maneuver inside.
I would advise using Silent Running/Stealth with the lights off as you have to slip pass a Crabsquid and Warper.
Make sure you craft some Beacons so you can drop them at points so you can return and find your way round.
You can use the Seamonth to visit the Lost River if you have the MK3 upgrade installed, but you have to stay high in the caves, but it allow you to get around like the Cove and places to farm stuff.
If you want to go deeper like the Lava Zone, you need the Prawn Suit or take the Cyclops further in since the Seamoth can only do 900m.
Made a quick clip showing this Lost River entrance that I usually use, if it's of any help to you.
I normally don't take my Cyclops all the way in there since it's a tight fit, but it can be done. Seamoth to my base normally works just fine though, and leave the Cyclops out by that cavern entrance.
Lifepod 2
I use that one also...love going through the Grand Reef and by the Degasi Base.
I almost exclusively used the NW entrance, for several reasons;
1) It was the first one I discovered, so I knew it inside and out by the time I discovered the other 3
2) It has a permanent beacon already right by the entrance (Lifepod 2), I always forgot to bring beacons with me to mark out anything I found so was relying on in-game ones
3) If you come at it directly from the Safe Shallows and drop straight down it has very little in the way of dangerous fauna around it (don't overshoot the lifepod as there is an adult Ghost behind it
4) The Ghost Juvie inside the Ghost Forest is much easier to bypass than the NE/Mountains corridor one (as it is off to the side)
5) Apart from the brine waterfall it is easy to navigate with the Cyclops
It's directly north of the front/left corner of the Aurora.
