How to rotate moonpool?
The thing is rectangular, with 2 connections on one side and 1 connection on another side. I want to orient it such that it connects to my X junction with the side that has 1 connection, but it always goes the other side and I can't figure out a way to rotate it?

Generally speaking you rotate objects made with the habitat builder with the mouse scroll. However, I'm not sure you can rotate it. It annoys me too.

If having issues placing the thing (as I have) try adding/removing corridors, sometimes it will behave and connect niclely to a MP room, othertyimes it needs a connecting corridor.

Using the mouse wheel before using the builder allows you to rotate the moonpool. In indor objects (like lockers) you can actually fine tune the yaw positioning of objects - this is done in the wire frame planning stage (when the object is still red or green)

It's been my experience that you cannot rotate the Moonpool the way you can other objects. I tend to place it, dock to see what my orentation is going to be, then move it to a side of the base (possibly even rebuilding part of the base) that allows me to exit properly. I do the same with corridors that have ladders so the ladder is against the wall.

Hold the right mouse button so the outline of the moonpool is showing, then simply swim around in a circle and place it at whatever orientation you want. ezy-pezy

Wow, it depends on how your main platform is rotated, figored that out now xD, the "darker" part of the platform is the side there it will be rotated

In short, when you put down the very first part of your base you are already setting the direction the Moonpool will point. All vehicles in all Moonpools will launch to the left of the position the player was when setting the first piece of the base.

So, for example, if you are looking North when placing the first piece of the base, all vehicles in all Moonpools in that base will launch West.

Is that assuming the first piece you place also faces North? If you rotate it to face West/East then where will the Moonpool face?

I believe it does have to do with the orientation of the first piece. My first piece on my current run was, as usual, a platform. The moonpool orientated itself so that a docked vessel points the same direction as the grey edge of the platform.

This is why I don't start my base until I have the Moonpool blueprints. I start my base with a Moonpool. :)
Or like Vilkata mentioned above. The first piece of your base dictates the orientation of the Moonpool. The Moonpool will always build with the rotating antenna end in the direction you were facing when you laid your first piece down.

Example: You were facing due North when you put your first piece down. You add a Moonpool, the rotating antenna will always want to be on the north end of the structure. Docked vehicles will always point away from the antenna end.

This is madness. It should not be so hard to get the moon pool to face the way you want it.

Agreed. I have a beautiful base and this new monopool is just throwing it off. Sucks.

at first i thought half the people in this thread were insane for how casually accepting they were of this bug. then it occurred to me that most of these posts were made during the beta, and so thats fine. but now the game has officially been released, and this is madness. i cant believe this wasnt fixed for the official release! this needs a hotfix ASAP. the moonpool seamed pretty cool at first, but facing my seamoth directly into a cliff, a full 180 degrees from where i want to be going, every time i leave, is getting old. :steamsalty:

2019 and this bug is still a thing, it should not be this difficult to fix.
