Building/Snapping PROBLEM.
:merling: Hello,

I am writing with a general question to the players as well as the developers of the game.

My question is, does anyone know if the developers plan to fix the broken snapping system in the game? I make no secret of the fact that I was very surprised that a production that looks very polished and developed is underdeveloped in such basics.

Motivation for asking the question.
:Dandelion:

How in the game, after so many significant updates, is it still impossible to put up a triangular roof, through broken snapping? These kinds of problems clearly discourage further play, because it's at the FUNDAMENTAL mechanics. :shit:

Unfortunately, for me, it's a motivator to return the product. :cozybethesda: :Fistofdosh:
I hope that eventually players will release some mod that fixes the above problem, or the developers will finally pay attention to this bug, which has already appeared on forums like: Reddit. steam. :approved:

I hope to fix this destructive error in the future, because the game seems interesting compared to other similar productions. :zommetal:

your constantly saying its broken. but i have no issue, and all your saying is the triangle roof. i have a massive base built with nearly 1600 roof triangles in it. the biggest issue i had placing them was the fact i had to climb all over it because you cant walk on them unlike slopes lol
hell, using the roof triangles is easy as hell, since you can place the downward facing one and use it as a latace then fill it in later with ease

First, thanks for taking your time bruh. :cozybethesda:

I wrote about what I experienced. Unfortunately, I still maintain this point about building. As for your observation about the inability to walk on triangular roofs, that's another issue that the game developers should fix. :Dandelion:

Since you have already written, if I may ask you in that case for help/advice regarding this issue. At my profile I have shared two screenshots showing my problem. How then can I fix it? :guardian:

I'll just add that I've already tried building walls, floors and removing other roofs a next to this triangular roof. And I would also like to point out that this is not my first time with this type of game, which makes this problem fundamental for me. :DemonFireBarrage: :DemonFireBarrage: :DemonFireBarrage:

ok, from the look of it, your trying to connect the triangle roofs on a corner. the triangle roofs are ment to be used as a sloped roof going at an angle, paired with other triangle ones. never built a roof that was connecting like the ones in your screenshot. i can try anf figure that out later today when im on. that said, i have to give soulmask credit on its building system sofar. better than most building games that cant make something connect smoothly at all lol

Yes building needs a lot of work that's for sure, typical Unreal engine very basic when it comes to building. I do believe they did say they were going to make changes to it in the future i guess time will tell.

Never come across any Unreal engine with good building, in fact it/s always been subpar at best

Hey, hey. :cozyspaceengineersb:

I hope so, too. Because the game really has great potential, but the main mechanic in my opinion is a little broken. I hope that in the next update, maybe they will take a more serious look at the problem with building in the game.
Because, after all, we are not talking about any exploit, building in textures or other wonders for pvp. Just about simply finishing the roof aesthetically. :cozypoechris:

It is best to simply talk about this issue as much as possible, because it is in the interest of us players. I guess everyone more creative wants to build a nice-looking base, not a simple square block. :worker:

Unfortunately, I disagree that you can only combine triangular roofs with other triangular roofs. The system applied in the game is quite common and not distinguished from other games. So I require that this system works smoothly as in other similar games with the same building system. :cozybethesda:

I always try to build nicely, aesthetically and creativ. Especially when I'm not playing on PVP mode. I always feel immense fun and satisfaction from building something. Unfortunately, here the game let me know pretty quickly that it wasn't worth it.

In truth, the issue here comes down to improving the building system in terms of snapping, and other smaller shortcomings, such as the inability to walk on triangular roofs. As I mentioned above, in another reply. I hope that the developers will take on the building system, because for some people (including me) it is one of the most important mechanics in this game type. :cleanseal:

Well, and I'll add that I doubt you'll do anything with this case. I tried all the options known to me for improving snapping, unfortunately nothing worked. In this case, the only valid option is to rebuild the base, which to me is absurd. :Toxic_Geralt:

PS:
I can imagine playing with snapping during a raid on a pvp server, it must be seriously annoying for defenders, funny for attackers. :Dandelion:

Hey,
By what do you infer that they added new snapping points?
Was it mentioned somewhere in the update or an official message from the developer?

I ask, because based on your message I decided to check this issue, however, the same problem is still there. :bgs_joking:

So I still maintain the same theme in the hope of some positive change in this mechanics. :approved:

So before every time i removed a wall part it would destroy the roof above it

Yes sorry my bad, forgot floor tile snaps to which is why it worked last time. Just tried it just and nope you have to have the wall or floor piece to build a roof.

O well, game needs many more snap points and some are. Think they would of added this already.

I guess we got the pointless elephant instead.

I think it is worth raising this topic, then maybe in the end the developers of the game will pay more attention in terms of building in their own game. :worker:

Especially since I assume that fixing this bug is not very complicated. It would be good if some developer addressed the issues in this discussion thread. :cozybethesda:
