How to get a lot of firefly ??

I need a lot of firefly but I dont want to catch them myself, its so boring... can my NPCs catch them ?

is it for the map, if so, just kill npc that drops them, u will stack them

+1 to having tribesmen collect fireflies! I'd love to see the little dweebs running around with bug nets at night.

Also, maybe beehive tending? That's another thing that can't be automated, and I'm not sure if they'll go collect what they need to craft mead/etc with if I don't go get it myself.

firefly should be removed. beehive should let us add a bee keeper. monkey nest needs to be added to the breeder....

Can't remember "which" lake, but at the bottom crecent of one of the starting area lakes is FULL of fireflies. Just equip a Bug Net and swing away, lol. ;) Kinda fun to catch them, although now that I'm around 200 hrs in.......haven't found a need for fireflies at all.

TLDR....Just set a waypoint on your map on the Firefly location, set a chest to drop the loot, done. :) You will have to Manually go collect the fireflies from the chests though. But yeah, easy way to just let your Tribesman go nuts with bug nets, lol. Have fun.

You will have to lead your Tribesmen that you set to work in that location to get them started, but once they're in range of your waypoint, they will ENDLESSLY gather firelflies for you and put them in the chests you leave in the area for them. Hope that helps ya out. :)

.....BTW, also works Great for spawn camping Elites and such....lol. ;)

Is it just ANY lake or did I just stumble on one? Not that there is ANY need for fireflies, the light thing drops regularly from Bandits, Outcasts, etc. Just asking outta curiosity. :) I surely enjoyed coming across them for the first time, thought they were embers from a forest fire or something at first, lol. ;)

And in case nobody has experienced fireflies in real life...........It's Exactly like coming across them in this game, lol, I ♥♥♥♥♥ you not. :) It's an utter joy. Haven't seen one since I was 14 or so, but hope they're still around. They like Kansas-type fields/marshes. ;)

OMG this is a game changer, thank you! Gonna go try this next midnight...

I personally love using them for the waist lamps and have a ton of firefly lights in my bases bc the lighting levels are so pleasing compared to torches and braziers.

I don’t see any problem in catching fifty at once, which will be enough to repair and craft lanterns.
The most important thing is to disable them from other recipes that can use them, so you don't have to spend on anything other than lanterns.

I know what you mean. Though i've never been able to experience such a beautiful thing in life, when a firefly night spawned ingame for the first time for me, it changed the entire feel of the area. I loved it.

I've only had it once, and it did happen around the lake a bit northwest of the starting beach, where we set up our base at. It covered quite an area near it. Unfortunately i've only had that happen once, so it seems like a rather small chance.

+1 for monkey storage & hive being being add to breeder. I have both of these automated where ppl collect from them to prevent them from overloading but its taking up a lot of slots

Fireflies in real life depend on your area but if you know they are somewhere where you live, you can encourage real fireflies to come to your house if its not a bare lawn lmao. Most people have bare lawns, short grass. Put some bushes and trees and flowers and they will live in your garden and you have fire flies lol
