Cannot trap animals

I cannot for the life of me trap an animal. I watched all the videos and their animals juts walk right in...

I walk so close to a turkey, it's not alerted, I try all the baits, it just walks away. I don't get it.
Tried locust, corn, pumpkin, and tomato

Make sure you are use the right trap and you are trying to trap baby animals.

If they aren't walking into it you can also try chasing them Into it.

I made corn flour and it worked for both baby turkeys and parrots. Make sure you stay hidden and away from the trap, if they see you they will turn away.

Same, caught 50 monkeys but no turkeys nor capybara.

I simply used Crickets to trap Turkeys

Also helps to snipe the adult animals that are attracted as well. Found when they walk up to the trap they set it off and close it.

I had the same Problem with the Turkeys and the Capybaras.
Then I have looked a few videos and then set up a few small traps (without bait) in the fleeing direction of the baby Turkeys and viola get them - easiest way to get them.
Or set up small traps around a Turkey nest and bring repair stuff with you.

The Capybaras took me longer. I got before that Monkey Nest stump and used Bananas inside the traps. crouch, be quite and come from behind and then place the medium traps behind them filled with bait.

It takes a bit. I dont understand why we cant just craft a bag and throw it over them?

The issue I get is the stupid adult turkey seems to spawn right on top of my trap, 2 minutes after I kill it, and the baby just wanders around. using locusts.
