Fastest/Best way to raise Awareness Level early on?
Since the technology/progression is really locked by this, I've been trying to find good ways to do it. So far, doing crafting from Inventory while simultaneously using a Workbench seems the best. Overall, the Bone Weapons have a great Time to XP ratio, but it sucks having to alt-tab for 20-30 minutes while you craft.
Any combos people have found to get that Awareness up ASAP? Like maybe get it to 20 in the first 2 hours?

EDIT: Based on the replies, I feel I need to be specific:
1. I'm looking for In-Game Activities, not Game Settings
2. I'm looking for specifics, like "Crafting X is great for Crafting Time to XP rate" or "For Inventory Crafting, X is the best"

MINING MINING MINING
There is absolutely nothing that comes close to the XP from mining. Tin first, then copper, then sulfur, then phosphorus, etc. You can get a whole level at like 17 clearing a tin pit in 10 minutes.

After that going afk while YOU smelt those ores, not your tribesmen, while you eat lunch or whatever, is a solid way to get a lot of exp, but slow.

I love how you focus on being insulted but my legit answer was ignored. I gave you the deets as I seen it. Hope it helped. Not desiring drama but feeding the drama are two different things. You don't have to like someones answer, plenty I disagree with here. Maybe it was trolling or the best way he thought you could move forward. -shrugs-

You didn't post anything useful? You copy/pasted from the game info and then just listed a bunch of stuff that anyone knows grants XP.

I said I was looking for crafting combos to do while playing and asking for examples. Your entire post could have been "Play the game and you'll get xp" and it would have been as useful

It's an insulting reply. It should be obvious that I'm asking as far as GAMEPLAY not just cheesing settings. Also you seem to have missed that I was asking for the first 1-2 hours and getting to Awareness 20 ASAP. Not the max cap but 20. That's also why I was saying that Inventory Crafting + Workbench might be the best, however Inventory + Harvesting or Combat sounds like it might be better. The key is to find a way to do 2 things simultaneously to maximize your starting Awareness Level to get to 20 ASAP so you can unlock the Bronze Tech Tree

You technically can do ALL of those things at once:

While exploring, use all three tools to harvest everything you can.
Then use thatch to make thick rope constantly and instead of repairing - make new tools.
Finally, attack anything you come across.

However, this just seems like normal play to me...

Not trying to be insulting but you don't seem to know what "Simultaneous" means or "At once". Each of those are different actions, you can't do two at the same time (mining and combat).
Also I didn't say I was doing repairing to get exp, I was saying I was crafting.
Its fine tho, I thought I was clear enough but based on other replies I wasn't.
What I should have said was "What are the best XP to Crafting Time Ratios for Inventory and Workbenches early on"

Awareness Strength: How powerful you are. You can gain Awareness Strength EXP through combat or work, and view the progress on the bottom of the HUD. A sufficient strong awareness can help you restore more Mask Nodes, as well as learn more knowledge and technology.
This is the way to level it up.

-Chop Trees
-Mine Clay
-Make planks (you'll need them anyways)
-Rough Leather and then into Leather
-Crafting as such;
Windows for buildings,
Spears for weapons,
LlamaWickerBaskets for armor,
-Mine Tin and Copper for best gains to top it off

How fast you can do this on a speed run I am uncertain but these are some of the best methods IMO. Hope this helps.

Talk about disrespect. You've literally disrespected several of the people giving real and proper feedback to your question OP. I'm not sure you understand how this works. We don't get paid to give you our time of day nor are we obligated to respond. Be thankful to those that do or you'll find nobody is going to ever give you any feedback. Since you already know the answer to your inquiry, why did you ask?

"Hey guys, what's the fastest way to level without adjusting the settings so that leveling is faster? What's that? Min maxing xp/hr is the same as just turning the settings up and I was a Mike Hunt for no reason? What's that? I could've handled that first comment in a mature way? Nonsense, my post my rules." Have fun grinding the same 2 tasks for weeks.

Again, and this is the last time I'm gonna say this, it should have been OBVIOUS that I was looking for In Game stuff, not Game Settings stuff. If someone says "What's the fastest way to Drive from New York to Chicago" and you reply "Take a plane" then clearly you fail at Reading Comprehension.

Your information was generic and had no details. If you would have said "Mining clay gives more xp than regular rocks" or something, that would have been details. You just listed activities with no context as to which was optimal. I mention "Time to XP Ratio" of Bone Weapons in my first post, so it should be clear I was going for specific information.

If I had asked "What activities grant XP" then you'd be fine. You just skimmed and assumed it was some basic question not looking for specifics

Apparently you listing this "obvious" stuff has triggered a lot of people.

I actually found it to be a useful list, since I just started the game and I'm still getting familiar with all the different things that can be done and what type of skill they level. You didn't say what to do with all the extra stuff that is crafted (like spears), but I found you can dismantle them.

I'm still figuring out how to mine Tin and Copper.

I think if someone doesn't like a post, just ignore it. The signal/noise ratio in here would be much better if people could just do that.

And yes, just because someone started a thread, that doesn't give them any special privileges, like controlling what is posted. Steam has almost no rules, and if you think there is any related to who can post, well, you are very special (not saying in what way).

There are rules on Steam called Terms of Service and those directly apply to the forums. Steams, albeit smaller admin size, mission object is to allow each developer/publisher the admin rights to police their own respective areas on Steam forums. Steams official admins do still police the forums and other admins alike. I've gotten developers removed from the admin position's, it's possible to do if justified. I've gotten players banned from using the Steam forums in certain game discussions for not following the Terms of Service. I'm not an admin or forums chief. Just a guy who wants us all to have some etiqutte when interacting. Stern follower of rules and they are there for a reason. It's why police work irl fits me like a glove because of my core values.

@Wilbill and not @Onikage following up with what she said; Contrary to this I did give very specific details on what gives more XP for a time to XP ratio which was her original inquiry. The information I provided was direct and correct for what she wanted to know. The activities I mentioned did not include making bandages or normal game play like taming a mount. However it was perceived as non-sense and discarded. Very disrespectful to ask the community for help and when giveth bark insults to the ones providing the information. Because of this, this user is now on my block communications list and I don't have to mistake replying to in the future. Since what I have to say doesn't matter anyways. It's win both ways IMO.

For those of you that also desire to know what the original debate was intended my answer is still valid and I hope it helps.
So far i think the single biggest exp gain i've gotten was from killing a tribe leader, i've been farming the ancient ruins to the east of the copper pit on the west side of the starter area with the elite bush dog inside it, but i'm not sure exactly how long it takes for them to respawn to make it more efficient. The next best thing for exp is probably to mine the copper from the pit while you wait for the tribe leader to respawn.

Sorry, but his reply was 100% legit.

You're wanting to know how to get to awareness 20 in 2 hours. You're going to be miserable throughout your game-play - on normal XP rates. Raise them and be done with it.

he is right though, i just boosted rates myself because its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ silly.

Personally i did planks, realistically you can do simple calculations of seconds to exp ratio but if you need to "grind up" i would just put it to 5x awareness and then turn it down when you feel satisfied.

First of all, just because you got your feeling hurt on another game's forum is no reason to make accusations of "U MAD BRO" here. Second, the fact you found that useful is sad. It should be clear that pretty much ANY harvesting/mining/logging activity grants XP. Also every crafting item has a tooltip that tells you what xp you get by doing the activity. Again, useless information here without specifics. Given there's 100s of different items, if someone wants to share what the best Crafting Time to XP Ratios they've found, I would appreciate it but I'm not demanding it.

Third, I'm not making any "Rules" about the replies. If you don't reply like you have basic comprehension of my question, I'm free to point that out because I can (as long as I'm not insulting, like calling people "Triggered" which is mocking PTSD). If you reply with information I find useless, I'm also free to say it's useless.

If I was telling people to Delete or Edit their posts, THEN you could make an argument that I'm trying to make "rules" about what people write. As it stands, like the way the ENTIRE forum works, as long as I'm not insulting or breaking rules of conduct, anyone can reply for any reason

Perfect, thank you for understanding and posting useful information. I've marked this as the answer and can now unsubscribe from this. I hope others find your information useful too. I appreciate you not only named a in-game activity specifically but ALSO wrote the "Why"
