How to set a homebase for tribesmen?

I tried moving a tribesman for the first time. Deployed him and escorted him to new base. Problem is he ran back to the old base. Made sure his work settings were all for the new base too(he was harvesting and I set it to a point near the new base). Except the storage one was still unlimited but I had boxes in the new base as well.

Shot in the dark would be that they can be saved to a specific chest so try to set him to only put into a specific chest first and see if he keeps using that during unlimited.
