No they have managed to hack the steam database numbers that is securely locked from outsiders.

What do you think?
Geezo Jun 1, 2024 @ 9:24am
i have no idea, but its not like Palworld or Enshrouded when release that other players give the review like floating water but Soulmask just have under 1.000 review from players.

maybe im going to refund, im sorry Soulmask </3

So you play games based on Steam player count and not based whether you like them or not?
If it works for you then okay, I guess..

You only play games if they have a hundred thousand+ players? Lol
What kind of Tiktok-brain mentality is that? Form your own opinion.

In reality, a very small portion of the people who purchase anything in life will leave a review, games on Steam are no different. In the news section they claim to have made over 100k sales so far since release.

To answer your question though, yes those numbers are of people who are currently logged into Steam and have the game running. I believe idle in menu is also counted, single player and online.

I only learned about this game, due to Steam's Survival Week sale, which advertised this game as releasing on the 31st. Most people probably just haven't heard of it.

Myself, didn't even know that it existed until today. A lot of the people who have already purchased the game are likely absorbed by it being new and thus have not bothered to enough to go and write a review about the game. I doubt they even revisit the store page unless they are here for the discussions so as to ask a question or because they have a gripe about a bug.

They sold 100k copies, probably more since that announcement. 30k online sounds about right.

I agree with your sentiments here. I dislike the abuse of the return policy Steam has graciously offered us. People use it far too often for the wrong reasons.

I believe its steam db that makes an estimate of ownership by taking 20x the reviews on a game that has been out for a while.

What is the point of this post?

OP was afraid of going over two hours play time for a full refund and wanted us to know about their abuse of the refund policy. Part of their reasoning was player count and total reviews of product on Steam. Those issues factored into the decision making for a refund.

Comparing this game to Palworld, not even closely related games IMO.
Comparing total reviews giveth between games as well, shallow because games only been out short time most gamers are playing vs reviewing at this given time frame.

Whatever people have to tell themselves to justify their actions can some times be considered madness. That's my take on the matter anyways.

Yes, i'am person that love meet new people so i love have experience with so many people from other countries or whatever its called. my purposed playing survival games are meet new people of course, i dont mind with "Early Access" title but why is there 27k people online on the server and just about less 10% people giving their review? its not like any other game release like "Palworld day one release and Enshrouded day one release" that people giving their review like floating water.

Im not comparing about gameplay between Palworld and Soulmask but they claimed they sold 100k copy in 8 hours since released? oh i have no idea.
sorry for my bad english, its not my first language.

It's real, but if they didn't play safe this game could have gotten twice the amount or even more.
