Same. I don't care for the MP. I'll only buy the game if it supports a fun SP experience.

@James
Exactly this is what I am waiting to see, or get feedback on.

I just really don't want another Conan, where I go in, build a house, run around, and the nothing left to do.

Any feedback, on Story, or SP quests appreciated.

@EverTrek1701

If you could give any ideas of SP?

Im playing single, the fact that the entire game is built around utilizing your followers and very quickly gets a ton of them (few hours in you can have 9 people in your tribe you can give jobs) seems to me to be a good start.

But its a game with a ton of systems that you need to expend energy into understanding so i think thats easier when you play alone.

You can also kit out your followers as you are them and they are you as you can play as anyone, and you can basically take one with you to fight with you, so im playing archer with a dedicated tank follower right now.

there are no "quests" per say, but there kinda is, there is a guideline to get you started that updates dynamically over time and is now for me at the point of needing to kill the first boss to upgrade my mask.

It seems there are 5 major legendary bosses in the game you need to beat, and you can pick from 1 of 3 starter masks but there are 10 total.

But at the same time it allows you to skip alot of the necessities i think so you still need to be able to decide yourself what you want to do, right now i need a better bow and an armor set, and i need to make a wooden fortification, but the "quest" just says "kill the boss".

I'm not that far into it but yeah, SP works really well. You can play according to your play style, even adjust the settings to your comfort level. I believe you can still have 20 villagers in SP mode. The Devs catered to just about every play style, crafting, SP, hunting, building, PVP, PVE, survival, combat..... whatever you want. Each as much as the other, tons to do and the content feels balanced no matter how you play. It's not linear, go wherever, do whatever, craft whatever, recruit whatever, kill whatever...ect.

Hard to explain. I'm still amazed at how many play styles this game covers.

Thank you Zouls
two brilliant replies.

I really appreciate your time, and help.
Sounds really cool. But I hope they add quests, and a Story arc.

Do you happen to know if when updates come they will wipe the progress / servers?

Again thank for the great posts. I'm sure this will help anyone who is waiting to hear about SP.

i'm starting in SP but setup a clan and will have my peeps drop in for dungeons and raids down the road. i like to start with building and exploring, making some levels, then main content. i know this is EA so may not have all the content ready (as with valhiem, they had boss names ???? in the beginning).

i had to adjust the graphics, and some of the keybind remaps didnt take atm.

i have 1k+ hours each for games like Ark, Conan, and Fallout 76. i'm used to bugs but the good needs to be more than the bad for me to continue. if this company starts working on ports and skin sales b4 they get content and gameplay working they will go the way of take-the-money-and-run games IMO. but so far so good...

Fun SP experience!

There is like... a million difficulty options to cater to literally ANY playstyle. Plus with the follower system you can pretty much automate everything and just spend your time exploring or building.

I personally love the game as a person who shuns his fellow living humans.

A word of warning though, this game gets pretty complicated so be prepared for that.

I'm having fun, I just wished we could deploy more than one tribesman, like we would do if playing co-op.

this is so far the best single player experience, if you don't believe me, try it yourself. but i recommend you to play with a friend, is so much fun.

I play solo as well and it's good. I changed the settings though so it's not so grindy. Chopping, mining and harvesting x2. Decay = 0, Buildings decay = 0, conversion rate x 5, crafting speed x 3. A setting I should have changed is the day night cycle, the default is 70% light, should have moved it to 80+. Max tribe members 100, max animals 70.

based on the trailer, i assume it's like Ark Survival, you can probably solo for a while but when you get later in game it's likely not reasonable, maybe possible but not reasonable. those big bosses look like they take multiple people to fight. usually in order to make these games fun for a group of players they have to balance everything for group play. this is clearly designed as a multi-player game first like ark, so single player is likely going to be a huge grind fest and generally not very fun to play in long time. i guess we'll see but for now since game don't even work with ultra-wide monitors i'll wait to see. i already been burned with games like Ark and other games like it and playing online is a joke these days, the new generation of kids have ruined online gaming where toxicity is just accepted and almost a requirement to play online now.
