I win, but i death?

I was playing the fourth monster and something strange happened to me. I have won and I have died despite coming out of the battle with my life at its best.
I imagine that it must have been like this, that I must die.


But, I don't understand. Is the game ending the fourth monster?

In a normal run, there are three Acts. If you defeat the Act III boss, your run is a success. Your character will die, allowing the character's Fear to be absorbed into the Monolith.

So, is there nothing else? Is it just killing those 3 monsters and killing them again and so on? Is the end of the gameplay then? It's not the end of the story, but it's the end of the gameplay.

There will be a bigger boss eventually... but yes, a normal run is just that, three Acts and it's over.

It's typical for this kind of game. There is not much content, but the different types of characters, decks, relics and strategies provide replayability.
