Call of Duty: United Offensive

Completely Unplayable! (fix'd)
Been on a CoD binge lately, decided to give this a shot. No issues during install, intro movie looks nice.

And then the main menu pops up, and it's broken. The normal selections like "New Game" are replaced with stuff like "[Unlocalized][Menu_New_Game]" instead. The options menu is an utter mess unhelpful, and attempting to start a new game anyway just kicks me back to the menu, but with a slightly different background. Oh, and I have to alt-tab out in order to quit.

Activision's forums are no help at all. They don't even seem to have forums for the older CoDs anymore. Any adive here?

EDIT: Check my uploaded screenshots, if you can. I took a shot of the problem.

I have exactly the same issue. I tried to uninstall/install again, but it didn't help.

Thanks, man!
It's really shame that Valve don't write about this in description of the game.

They did
Notice: This game requires the Steam version of the original Call of Duty to play.

lol, UO is an expansion for Call of Duty, so yes that was the problem, steam should make you install COD befor UO...

Thank you for the help. I, like a dumb***, uninstalled COD then moved on to "game 2" and it wouldn't work. I reinstalled COD and it works fine. It is almost always user error. Lol
