CoD 2 was a laser fest..no recoil on the weapons and dumbed down for the xbox..it was the begining of the end for PC gaming on a competitive sense for COD and its been going down hill since .UO was the last t great mp COD and was bettet than Vcod(Vanilla COD) Because it had sprint cooked nades and ctf..maps were great I could have done with out the tanks but thier were and still are players who love BA.. The only other COD worth talking about is MW 1 and thats because it was the last to have mod /mapping tools and dedicated servers

CoD2, but also CoD4, had the biggest competitive CoD community on the PC with LAN competitions between Europe and North America's finest teams.

MW2 was the doom of Competitive PC CoD, and the hostage take over by Console Kiddies.

You dont think Vcod had LAN competitions between North America and Europe finest teams? wow...the same teams that played MW 1 in those lans were the top teams in Vcod like the Doctors aka Evil Genius Pandemic I could go on and on or I could also trace those same teams all the way back to Quake 2 and quake 3 RTCW MOHAA RobWiz started out as a sniper on a middle of the road United offensive CTF team...My Point wasnt that MW1 or COD2 were not popular or played they were my point was they were dumbed down for the console kiddies/controllers and ported to the PC and began the down fall of PC games ..The guns have no recoil in comparision to Uo or Vcod because of the xbox.. While I am sure both Cod2 and MW1 sold more than Vcod or UO that didnt make the competitve scene bigger..when COD came out it consumed 3-4 games base comunities RTCW ,MOHAA SOF2,and BattleFeild clans migrated to COD in huge numbers ...not to mention quite a few CS1.6 teams..Guess you had to be there to believe it.I was there for all these games and the competitive leagues from OGL to STA and CaL/CPL to leagues today ...Nothing compared to Vcod..I liked UO better because I like multiple respawn games types coming from RtCW so CTF was a more natural feel for me.but is split the Cod leagues in half..

I know vCoD had a great competitive scene. I'm not sure why you are telling me all of this? Because I know all of this already. UO though, was never as good as the other CoDs I mentioned. And no, UO is not vCoD. It's just a shoddy expansion pack which was never a serious competitive game.

It had 7 seasons of Cal and more in TWL...RobWiz one of the most sucsesful gamers in the world played it...and so did plenty of guys better than you..The fact you didnt care for it doesnt make your opinion fact in fact I still have all three installed and UO has a bigger player base now than COd2 or MW .. . Besides all of that doesnt change the fact that COD2 was a laser fest that started the downfall of computer gaming because it was a console port..that my friend is a FACT MW2 was the nail in the coffin but COD2 was the cancer that lead there

As far as i knew cod2 was never released on console it hoped to cod3 that was an utter failure. And as a pro cod2 player it was not cod2 that started it, It started with modern weapons being added cod4 was the nail in the coffin for the older cod games. As europes largest server owner for coduo cod2 as soon as cod4 was released players dropped like flies, Then a few months later they started to rise. but not to numbers they was before cod4 release. When codwaw was released that was the end of a gaming era for all of the old cod games. Pc gaming had moved on if you want to blame someone blame the money grabbing software writers they was who killed the game, it had to be done to make way for new games that is upto date with modern hardware.

Please do not get me wrong here i dislike the modern games they have no skills needed to play them eveyone camps about or sprays the map with bullits it just does not cut it for me. But i will do my best to keep a server running for as long as the master servers are online.
Once they are turned off you will have to get gameranger installed to find servers it free to download i play grid online via gameranger.

COD 2 was the game that lauched with the original xbox...and was dumbed down so you had very little recoil it also launched the begining of the end of mod tools and free maps for computer gamers because Microsoft made people pay for them for xbox everyone got greedy .So because they couldnt figure out a way to make us pay if we could make our own, DLC and no mapping mod tools became the norm.. COD 4 was actually the last game to have mod tools and free map packs for PC and it was launched with the 360 but all the hub bub started with cod 2 we got map packs months after xbox they refused to give them to us unless we could get sponcers because it wasnt fair to the xbox player who had to pay...bl;ah blah blah thank you invidia for being that sponcer every time...Funny thing is MW2 was basically MW1 with a bunch of clever mods from cod4...since they took away our mod and mapping tools the game has stagnated badly

I know codwaw for the pc had mapping tools but they was released late near the end of life for the game and the zombie fans had fun with it. i have made many maps for cod2 never bothered with cod4 map making i just disliked the modern guns. Yes the greed is a bad thing we was always told mods and map would be free for call of duty then they changed the rules on us.

I have just added the awe mod to our server to brighten things up a bit more been a great sucess so far many more players have joined the server. I have been looking for a bot mod to add to a new server but filefront and the like of have shut the older cod game mod down. I will have a root about on my old pc i know i have the files here some where, if any one needs maps for cod game up to cod2 i have 1000's of them and can be put on an upload server for you.
