i made it to the very last mission, i got to the part where you take down a sqaudron of bombers with an 88flak, but every time i enter the seat of the flak the turret doesn't rotate or move at all what does this mean?

Where exactly in Kharkov are you? Have you entered the final firefight in the train station, or are you still in the square outside?

I have just cleared that mission. The 88 flak should rotate and aim where you point the cursor, if it doesn't then I'm afraid, it is a bug. that sucks, because you are at the area just before the showdown at the station.

Funny, the 2cm quadflak seems to turn and fire just fine, but shooting down the second bomber lables me as "a traitor to the motherland". Where can I find this 8.8cm flak that you're all talking about?

I had that traitor of motherland happening once and the next time it just worked fine. You should propably just keep trying.
