Must say kinda odd to see no reviews on steam for a new game like this

Give em a few hours to start showing up. Doubt it'll be too many reviews either. Doesn't seem like this game is gaining any traction outside of a niche audience (I only know like one other person whom wishlisted this).

I think Gravity Rush fans, Siren fans, Silent Hill fans all should be interested, right? Not too niche.

Not sure lot of them know about Siren.
Even people who enjoy other japanese horror barely know it.

I do love siren and gravity rush but except silent hill i think thoses two are very niche game.

edit : some steam reviews are in but they all feel useless and most of it are under an hour...

The game released at an odd time, at least here in the States. So expect some reviews in a few hours maybe?

Anyway, all reviews under an hour is pure bs/sus to me, unless it's a broken launch.

Nobody is going to write a review after only having played a few hours, it is of no use to me to read a review from someone who has only played for an hour.

Siren is the one and only comparison game I thought of when seeing the more recent gameplay trailers of the body hopping, I too am wondering how it compares and what the similarities are.

Silent Hill fan here. Little to nobody knows about Toyama. Everyone praises the second installment aside from music. So yeah that's pretty niche.
Akira's music is niche as well. I listen to it almost for two decades and I can't recall more than one guy from my friends who knows Yamaoka.

It just came out, and it's a niche indie action / horror adjacent game.

I won't say it's had no marketing, but it hasn't had a lot of marketing. I've talked to quite a few people that play games who have never heard of it even days before release. Unless you watched the Game Awards a couple years ago, you probably never saw this.

The Metacritic scores are middling at best (PC = 65, Xbox = 67, PS5 = 62). Some complaints have been clunky combat among other things, which for many means an automatic no.

I don't think it's that expensive personally, $45 doesn't seem like a lot. However several people are arguing that that is too expensive for some reason.

So there's a lot of factors as to why there aren't that many reviews, and why there aren't that many people playing.
