Conclusion: HK is expensive, Mohammed needs welfare, France has huge foreign and national debts, and Macron cut the defense budget in 2017. No wonder the HK rifles were replaced.

The main reason I see for replacing the HK416 with the BREN being that HK doesn't produce guns in 7,62x39, if that's the main requirement. Btw, I'm Czech, I love the look of the BREN 805, but isn't a good rifle in my opinion. I hope BREN 2 changes that.

A govt tired of getting ripped off. Thats who. What do you think hk charges for every 416. I'd say close to $5k. I'll never buy a rifle from anyone with military contracts, they have no desire to provide the civilian market, its not worth it to them. Look at FN, Colt, Steyr, HK ect.
