Problem starting the game / virus alert
Wanted to start the game a few minutes ago and my antivirus software freaked out. It said:
...while trying to open "...\WOG\disasm.exe" the virus "Win32.Application.Amonetize.D (Engine B)" was discovered. Access denied.

Any clues? Why does the alarm go off?
Is there some kind of malware included in the game?

I just recovered the .exe-file from my antivirus-quarantine-folder, now it works again. I just hope that I don't have any malware on my computer now...

a virus most likely burried itself into the exe.. delete it and let steam fix it by going to the game right click properties then verify cache integrity :D this will redownload the exe

Well, I got the same msg..Unknown error to start..Checked the folder and saw the .exe was missing..
Ok where is it, it turns out my AV locked it in quarantine..This is unusual, so ok, let Steam dld it again and see what happens..quarantine window still open btw..Steam verify declares 4 files missing redownloading and guess what, right after dld click it goes right in the chest again.
Win32: Evo-gen on both counts.

So I do agree this isn't a deliberate action however something has changed in the .exe for the AV to repsond this way..And after checking this virus behaviour it sure is one nasty piece of coding.

http://www.im-infected.com/virus/win32evo-gen-susp.html for the curious ppl..

After a being hit twice it does look like some parties need to check a few things.

Whitelist I hear you say, sure this can be done on all suspicious programs but kind of defeats the entire story of security that way if the program is indeed infected somehow..

One thing is crystal clear to me, until this is solved, I'm not playing it..
