Ingame I disabled the "Mirrored Floor" and "Autofocus", AA is turned on ingame. You can activate a small FPS overlay in steam, when your FPS are stable you can leave it on. Only in hardcore mode you may want to switch it off, the engine uses a lot of resources when you activate multiple parts at the same time.
During the game I never use spacebar, I only use double clicks to select a part and then activate it.
My tips for daily top scores are:
- Hold down the CTRL key to lock the camera so you wont accidently move the camera instead of activating a part (especially in super game)
- Never use acceleration, always watch the animation at normal speed, accel. just messes with your reaction time
- As few camera movements as possible
- dont watch the animation end and then click, there will be a delay between you watching and then clicking, try to get a feel for the animation to end and time your next click (thats why you dont want accel.)
-if you just cant beat the daily top score, come back the next day. I have the daily top score unlocked for every single gun, but I know that I cant beat the scores of some players.
I use the space bar to activate parts and accelerate during super game, it's mostly a matter of what you're used to. But it removes the chance of accidently tripple clicking during super game. Just try it for a bit and see how you like it.
I always continue a model when I made a mistake instead of restarting, that way I can train the rest of the weapon too, otherwise you get really good at the first parts and slow down too much for the other ones, afraid of making mistakes.
You need to get used to the timing of parts, you can activate them somewhat earlier (especially in game mode, look out for supergame it gets me everytime).
Find yourself a certain optimal route in which you disassemble and stick to that, you would be amazed how much time you can loose everytime you need to look for your next part.
My mouse speed is really low, but that's just how I'm used to it. Only anoying part is that when rotating the camera the mouse can't go off screen and continue rotating, so I have to give it a swing and hope it stops at the correct location.
I forgot to say that I do use the spacebar in the Super Game mode, but I get better times when I only use the mouse in the Normal Game mode. Sorry for not being clear. I always practice and learn models in the Dissassembly/Assembly modes. I'm currently holding the 12th place for the MP40 (Normal Game mode, all time) and I want to get the 1st place.
What about the lights intensity (Video II settings in the game), mouse double click speed (Windows), and monitor refresh rate (also Windows)?
From my own experience it's better not to play the competitive modes when you're hungry, tired, or ill, because you'll misclick a lot.
Monitor refresh rate is depending on your monitor, a normal TFT display has a refresh rate of 60Hz. If you have a Gaming Monitor with 120Hz or 144Hz, you should use these refresh rates (higher is better).
I play with a 60Hz monitor and the framerate ingame is 60fps, which means either v-sync is activated (there is no option to deactivate it ingame and i have global vsync off) or the game is locked at 60fps.
Maybe someone with a faster monitor or a dev. can confirm if it is v-sync or locked fps (i suspect v-sync). If it is in fact v-sync, then a faster monitor would help you to minimize the delay.
If your mouse uses the logitech gaming software, you could actually set a double click macro for an other mouse button (middle mouse for example) to remove the delay between your two clicks.
But I think some would already see this as cheating
I'll not use any scripts, hardware, or software that will give me an unfair advantage.
