Considering funding the developement of a shotgun, grenade launcher (sniper rifle)
Just like the first time I funded the development of a weapon, (Panzerschrek), I am considering funding the development of a second weapon, except that don't know exactly what type of weapon I want to add to the game. As such, the criteria for each type are quite vague, though the weapon should have some interestering technology. I will probably redefine the criteria later at some point for each of the specific type of weapon.

Weapon criteria per type (adjusted per 30-10-2019)

Grenade launcher
I am considering the funding of a multiple shot grenade launcher, it should not be an automatic grenade launcher (too heavy and probably complex).

Grenade sniper rifle (sniper rifle which can fire grenades of any diameter), requirements are portable with ammo by one or two soldiers it should be able to fire them quite some distance with accuracy.

Shotgun
A modern weapon (2019-1970), which is either semi-auto or fully automatic, which can hold more than 10 shells of any size. A weapon with underbarrel configuration can fail on some of the requirements.

Combination shotgun
* It should be a rifle-shotgun combo. Break action is acceptable if designed as survival weapon, but a weapon with any other action is acceptable as as well.

It will probably take 2-3 months time to make a decision. In case you post a suggestion on this thread, please do add:
*links to safe websites with information of the weapon(s)
*a magzine/book which describes it in great detail.
* Or the specific weapon should be for sale in some countries where Noble Empire is active.
Without detailed information, the developers can't design the weapon.

I am not interested in funding the development of a rocket launcher (already done that), automatic grenade launcher (probably too complicated and lack of information due to being military technology companies don't want to share) or anything else which is not one of these four types of weapons.

So far, I have some candidates for each weapon type:


Grenade launcher (multiple shot)
* Inkunzi PAW (doubts about the amount of information available, but video on forgotten weapons)
* GM-94 (is being sold, but doubts whether it will be available. Technology-wise not really advanced, but minimum fire range of 5 meters makes it interesting.)
* DP-64 (no estimate about information)
* Metal Storm 3GL
* TKB-0249 duo to being able to launch grenades extremely far (up to 1700m), but it has low muzzle velocity. so I doubt whether it is sniper rifle or a grenade launcher.

Grenade launcher sniper rifle
* BarrettMX109
* Norinco LG5 or Q11 (sniper or agl with long range high accuracy) Name of the weapon depends on the ammunition. Not possible due to lack of information.



Shotguns
* AA-12 military version (fully automatic) (the earliest auto-shotgun with bullpup design being made as far as I know, can hold quite some ammo and has low recoil for shotguns in general (doubts about the amount of information available)
* Kel-Tec KSG (pump-action bullpup with two tubes for ammunition is quite nice). Being sold to public.
* Crye Precision six12 (seems quite cool because of underbarrel, revolver mag and sound suppressor) (information?)
DP-12 standard manufacturing
* SRM Arms SRM 1216> weapon is for sale

Combination guns (rifle-shotguns variants)
* Crossfire mk 1 (pump action rifle and shotgun with multiple shot. Flawed weapon design, though.)
* Chiappa M6 Survival Gun (will probably succeed due to chiappa being a partner)
* M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon (springfield and ithalca)
* Savage 24

Thanks for funding the Panzerschrek.

Use NoScript, advertisement blocking software of your choice, and website archives (like archive.org) to increase your safety.

White Atheist, thanks again for suggesting many weapons. But the list of shotguns is getting too long for my liking. Could you post a top ten or five of your favorite and technology wise interesting shotguns?

Sorry. I am just a huge gun enthusiast. I read about them nearly every day. I think I will not post any links in your future posts unless you will need more information that you cannot find at all.

I would like to see the AA-12 the most (or at least the Ithaca Model 37 Home Defense because it has a unique mechanism, I love how it looks, and there is enough information to create a model), but the developers need more references than videos, patents, and manuals. Sometimes they cannot understand how a specific part works. I wonder which gun will they choose?

I do find firearms interesting myself, but because I live in a country in which they are heavily regulated, I don't have that much knowledge of them, apart from videogames (with world of guns adding a lot), wikipedia and the forgotten weapons channel.

This makes it a rather difficult task of finding a technology-wise interesting weapon. It will then not help if a list is posted of about 30 shotguns. But then again, I am to blame for that myself, due to not setting criteria for a type of weapon which exists for a long time and has too many weapons now to count now.

I looked through the catalogue of the game and some reading on wikipedia, I found the following things:
- the game no non-altered shortened or sawed-off shotgun (shotgun with a barrel less than 30cm / 12inches and shorter than 60cm / 24 inches)
- Basically, all that use either 12, ,16 20 gauge or .410 inches ammunition.
- Most of them are either pump-action or semi-automatic, only one automatic and one lever or break action (model 21)
- Both shortened shotguns and auto-shotguns are propably secret technology.

Shortened are literally just shorter barrels. That's it, a shorter metal tube. Maybe they can add the option in operation for different barrel lengths.

Auto shotguns are no more than a secret than smg/mg. If you ever get a chance to shoot a 12 gauge, you'll see they have quite a bit of kick. The practicality makes very few models exist relative to the number of other gun types. Also people just aren't as interested in shotguns as they are with rifles, handguns, and smg/mg so that's what gets voted in game.

Same here in Russia. I cannot legally own firearms because I am a short-sighted and suicidal person, therefore, unable to pass medical evaluation required for a gun license. Yet it is easy to illegally obtain a firearm because of widespread corruption and notorious incompetence of the Russian government, and availability of new technologies such as darknet. Gun laws never stop people who want to illegally obtain a gun and/or use a gun for illegal purposes. Another example is prostitution: it is illegal, but, sadly, widespread in Russia. Or notoriously bad Russian drivers who use bribes to buy their driver's licenses.

The Winchester Model 21 can be transformed into a sawn-off shotgun in World of Guns. The majority of short barreled shotguns are fairly simple because the main differences between them and regular models are a short barrel, a handguard (or a forend), and a buttstock (or a pistol grip). If a weapon is patented, then it is no longer a secret weapon.

The choice is up to you. If the developers can find enough information about the SRM Model 1216, then they will make a model. I am an old-fashioned person, and I prefer old American and German weapons.

Do you accept combination guns like the Sauer Modell 30 (it uses both 9.3x74 mm. (rimmed) and 18.5x65 mm. (12 gauge 2.55 in.) cartridges) or the ČZUB 584?

I knew that shortened shotguns are literally are shortguns guns with shortel barrel and overall length, but many countries outlaw them or have more strict rules because those weapons are more concealable than average length shotguns. I though that would make vanilla short shotguns only accessable to military and police forces and maybe more interesting, but I am clearly wrong.

I thought that auto-shotguns were military tech because they are destructive devices in the US and probably illegal to civilians in many countries as well. Most of the shotguns on the wiki list were designed in the 1970-1980 for an US military program. But them being more similiar to how machine guns work, I did not knew yet.

I shall look into Sauer Modell 30 and Czub 584 when I have time. Currently I do not know anything about these weapons

So basically, the changes of success of my weapon being added to the production shedule of World of guns are like this:

1. Iconic/legendary weapon (any type)
2. Grenade lauchers
3. Grenade launching sniper rifle (shoots absurdly small grenades large distances instead of absurdly large bullets compared to anti material snipers)
4. mg's, rifles and handguns.
5. Shotgun, any type.

Combination guns can fire both rifle and shotgun cartridges. The Ithaca M6 (the original model) and the TOZ TP-82 are survival weapons that can also fire both rifle and shotgun cartridges.

Smg, mg, rifles, handguns, and shotguns are more likely to be added than grenade launchers.

Auto weapons are not illegal to own in the US. New ones can't be made for public use so they are older guns but in any case, it doesn't make the tech secret just like how you can find info on guns, planes, tanks, etc., currently in service.

Because how warfare has changed, small arms r&d isn't as big as it was back then. Plus there's plenty of experience now to know what types of weapons are more advantageous than others.

I included the ČZUB 584 because it is a "meme gun" in the Russian Arma/Operation Flashpoint gaming community. The gun in Arma: Cold War Assault is definitely the ČZUB 584 because the bottom barrel of the world model (and probably of the view model too) is smaller and it fires "ball" or full metal jacketed rifle bullets. However, the view model of the gun has a ventilated rib from the ČZUB 581 double barreled shotgun on its barrel.

I found more combination guns. The Savage Model 24 is popular in the USA, while the Kalashnikov Concern IZh-56 and the IZh-94/MP-94 are popular in Russia. The Crossfire MK-1 is an unusual combination gun.

Other unusual shotguns are the Crye Precision Six12 and the ENARM Pentagun.
