AR15 Foward assist?

I know what its for...but how does ut work, i wrote for the AR but i was also refering to the M4 and M16 platforms wich are the same

id seen that video before but it doesnt say how it works
and when i first saw it i already knew what it was for.

and it also closes the bolt more silently

I bet that it just push the bolt forward and its design make able move back the bolt... because the part that push the bolt is retracted the enought distance to avoid any contact with the bolt while shooting the weapon. under my point of view that's all.

Sorry a lot, but that design is so simple that... well I can't do nothing but being sure that you see it. Because it has just two spings the big one move all back and the small one controls the position of the part that push the bolt.

If you look on the right hand side of the bolt carrier you'll see a series of scallops. When the bolt isn't fully in battery (as in, bolt carrier not all the way forward and bolt not fully locked into the receiver extension) the forward assist simply pushes forward against the scallops.

Then you didn't look carefully enough, the screenshot says definitely M4.
