Wound spells questions
I have been baffled by wound spells (for example "minor wound") because when I apply them to enemies, their health bar is still full. But perhaps it is the bar itself that gets shorter? So you don't notice anything. But then, when the health recovers, will they show a lost HP gap or it recovers automatically to full bar, and full health? Wound spells seem rather lame compared to something that causes straight damage, is there any advantage to them?

There are three types of "wounding" spells: damage, drain, and absorb. Look for the free wiki for the accurate details of how these spells work.

As for your question, "when the health recovers, will they show a lost HP gap"? The answer is no. Always no.

In general, wounding spells work exactly as expected. I use them all the time. My Sorceress' Destruction spells are based on them (I seldom use fire/frost/shock spells, like most Destruction mages do).
