I love breaking into book stores and read books there for free, while owners sleep or away. I mostly do it for skill books, no need to pay this way.

Absolutely. I downloaded the mod to make unread books glow, and the first thing I did was break into various bookstores to read all their books. It's great.

I would also recommend looking for the more valuable books in the bookstores. I have taken the opportunity to fence them for coin.

you can read the books whilst the shops open, just dont take them

But wouldn't shop owners yell "stop, thief!" if you touch any item highlighted in red?

Not bothered with it... YET!. Doing it early game does not have the benefits of doing it at late game because of the level ups at late game would be more beneficial.

You can still read any book in red. As long as you don’t actually take it, you’re fine.

I don't know, I am too nervous to touch the books in front of the book shop owner. Besides it's so much more fun to break in at night and read. Plus, I pilfer some books too. :) Fun stuff.
