Durable Weapons

Why do they exist? Spent 20+ hours on the Shivering Isles, played most of the quests, cleared most of the dungeons and found only one lousy durable glass dagger on all my journeys. That is even worse then my yield of amber and matrix weapons and armors.

They are a loveless copy from the normal weapons and most likey were made by a trainee in less then an hour. But they are in the game, so why did Bethesda made it almost impossible to find them?

In Skyrim, why did Bathesda make the cool Nordic weapons only appear on Solsthiem? Just another one of gaming's mysteries.
