anybody else becoming obsessed with oblivion remastered?
The more time i spend inside this game the more i realize how marvelous it is

every single material and every single location ive been has just left me completely befuddled. Its not just the graphics but the sounds are majestic as well. Have you guys ever tried turning off the music and just listening to the ambient sound? I swear you hear ambient sounds that do not repeat.. like ever.. How is that even possible? an hour of afk and i was still hearing new sounds

even the links of metal chains are better than skyrims MESHES mod (that super popular mod i forgot the name of)

every brick every surface every material is bumpy or lumpy or sticking out in some way. I've never seen texture work like this. And all the textures look like they were made by the same person because they all fit together so well (the opposite of an asset flip texture circus)

i didnt know until like 60 hours in that you can press H on items in your bag to see a 3D interactive window of the object and rotate it

i kind of wish elden rings gameworld was like this. Have you guys completed the thieves guild questline and experienced the vast network of tunells beneath imperial city? It reminds me of fallout3's intricate subway system. But this is above and beyond far more gorgeous..

Nobody is talking about the thousands of new vegetation colors, grasses, tree types added to the gameworld.

and to anyone regurgitating that popular video (i wont name names) claiming oblivion remaster lacks artistic merit. I never disagreed with something more in my whole life. Have you zoomed in on all the leafs and plant types? They look like they were made by a famous Japanese painter or something the colors and styles are adorable. Have you seen the barnicles on the wood and stuff? I love the pattern on those when you zoom in closely. Its just a simple pattern of colors that somehow looks photorealistic when you zoom out a bit

theres like 20 different wood types.. im shocked i keep finding new wood surfaces still after 100hrs. Like literally made out of a completely different texture of beautiful wood.

i have had maybe 2 crashes total. Im one of the few people actually SCARED of a patch because the game has been so perfect for me. I have steam community in-game disabled and vsync on + 60fps cap on at the same time. I figured its worth mentioning maybe other people will have similar luck trying those settings. Im playing on high preset with the blobwater-reflections disabled and everything in the advanced section OFF. Raytracing off software raytracing HIGH.

and for anyone who is going to say "Thanks todd howard". I must first say. Starfield sucks!! im not todd howard!!

Me.

I did noticed about little over 2 weeks ago the mods in nexus for Remastered slowed down, which made me suspicious about the masses stopped playing it. Then a few days later i saw an article rubbing me in the face how Skyrim now has more players than Remastered.

I don't care to be honest, for me personally Oblivion has always been superior. And i got over 2500+ hours in SkyrimSE/AE and 1700+ in SkyrimLE.

But there i am checking nexus over and over just to see what new OBSE64 and UE4SS mods just got out of the oven. But it it really slowed down...

I'm still enjoying Oblivion Remastered anyway, and will probably be playing it until we get a new TES game. I tried to play SkyrimAE a few days ago, but i know that game in and out and i just had to quit. Oblivion landscapes have always been more enjoyable to explore and admire.
I've really been digging the game too. It's like reliving a fond memory with a fresh prescription on your eyewear.

yeah and i love the old game stuff like quicksave/quickload, the fast loading screens, and i think the mouse feels great also. Thanks for reading bro!

Not many people are willing to play Oblivion with a 1070 ti...guessing by your obsessive stat checking Id guess you're one of Oblivions biggest fans....

I am as well, but you have to understand that most people aren't getting everything out of this remake without a 4070 or higher...high vrs HW lumen is a staggering difference and, for me, is the only thing that really justifies it...

If i was on my old 3060 I would probably just replay the original with an overhaul or something

I was happy for a time but it's hard to be focused on how good it looks when you're always crashing to desktop
Not obsessed, but it's a nice improvement on a game I already love.
I am over 130 hours in, lol. It's definitely scratching several itches. I suppose it also helps that I keep an RP journal where my character either justifies her actions or just comments on the things that happened to her recently. It kinda adds to the adventure when you do things based off what your character might do.
go to castle anvil, do r.fog 0 (it only disables the smog around you and leaves the distant mountain dog on). And go into palace, then theres a way to get up top of the dome and look down and its like a 100ft drop. EPIC castle. Never seen something so epic

then theres a door that leads to a gorgeous outdoor balcony type area
