Cave Cleared Icon
I thought this used to be a thing, as I'm sure it was back in FO3 (similar timeline) but does nothing show when an area or cave is completed in Remastered? Annoying trying to remember all locations visited without messing about with Excel or a notebook

Also, this sodding local map zoom reset. Good god it's winding me up.

Classic Oblivion. Skyrim's map features spoiled us. From what I can tell this remake was done in the simplest, cheapest way possible. They added a few basic quality of life improvements and hired a few new voice actors. They really didn't give this the attention to detail an actual remake deserves. Quality of life map UI should have been obvious, but they prioritized other elements instead.

Wait a few months. Modders will fix it, then and update will occur, break all of the mods, and the modders will fix it again.
Modders are the only reason people still play Skyrim after all.

Edit: Nexus already has a mod to force the game to default to local map when you are in an interior space: "Baka auto open local map" it is an obse64 plugin.
Someone else added a completion map marker. You have to hover over the location on the map and then press shift to mark it as cleared. the mod is named "map completion icon markers"

Go to nexus mods, or check Curse mods and see if they have anything?

Yeah I figured mods would prob have already covered this, not sure why I hadn't looked properly.

I always mod my Bethesda games with primarily just all the QOL stuff but with the remaster being so new I didn't really think about it.

I'll have a play later. Cheers
The caves reset every 3 days so the marker would be a bit pointless. Unless you don't remember the caves you visited during the last 3 ingame days.

If you zoom to local map once, you can use TAB to access it without having to zoom again. But hoping the patch changes it to be the default behavior while inside.
yeah, it kinda sucks they made the maps worse and you have to zoom in now to see local maps. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded. don't understand why they didn't leave it like the original and you can just switch between local and worldmap.
Lazy slop.

Yes, but its fun exploring new places. Now its some places like rockmilk cave who is nice to farm but most places you don't care to re visit once you cleared them.

Do they really? Used to be 10+ days IIRC. That's fair enough then.

Because it's not a remake.
its actually the opposite of lazy, theres a reason no old games come to modern game engines like this. Its hard to do.

Theres not a single material in this game thats not master quality

and they fixed a lot about the game, a lot of nonobtainable items are now obtainable after quest ends

that floating body in the water no longer gives you an uncompleteable quest

this game had people properly adding/fixing various things as they went along

its not worse, just different, once you get used to it, its not only not worse, but better (minus the local map zoom thing)

Meanwhile there are a number of game breaking bugs they chose not to fix and could have done easily by just copying the modders work (which they had full rights to do).

Sadly it is likely going to come down to modders to fix stuff again.

If by "lazy slop" you mean a great remaster, then yes, absolutely.

This game is not a remake.

But about the problem of cave clearing, most caves serve no purpose cause there are no Radiant quest in the game. Sure maybe you are sent back to a cave you cleared for a quest.

Skyrim had the opposite problem, you were not meant to to explore cause of the Radiant Job system would hopefully send you there. Not to mention some areas were locked out or caved in to stop you from entering till you got the quest.
