Is it harder?
Don't get me wrong, I'm old, and the last time I played this masterpiece was nearly 2 decades ago at the ripe old age of 18, but it feels tougher or at least more refined than it used to be? It's not "hard" in any sense, but I'm sure I used to be level 4/5 and clear the arena to grand champion in the first 2 hours back in the day. I'm about 5 hours in, just hit level 5 and still have to be careful with how many targets I engage at once,.

I fought 3-4 arena opponents and nearly got the ♥♥♥♥ kicked out of me. They same to auto heal now when they cross the gate line?

This isn't a complaint or a moan, just a genuine curiosity, did they purposely try and slap the brakes on a bit?

I would say remaster is easier than original but I'm playing at master difficulty so might be different.

it depends on how you're leveling. if you're going to sleep at night and you've only increased your acrobatics and sneak skills, combat is going to be really hard

If you level Destruction and Blade, it'll become one of the easiest TES out there.

People already not reading or caring about my original post,

it's not about how I'm levelling or the spec I picked, it's about the difference from the original many years ago. Used to 1 shot arena pre level 5 etc, changes listed in post
Think the issue is more the way the leveling system works in general now. You used to be able to roll up still level 1 with maxed out weapon or armor skills, or stacked to the ceiling with destruction magic since you only really needed one "throwaway skill" for efficient leveling.

Only way to do that now is as an insomniac.

They have lowered the stats of some enemies to compensate but in general it's going to feel much harder because you aren't likely going to have a single stat to 100 until level 12+.

Also archers are a menace now. When they aren't paralyze-locking you they're crashing your game by double-paralyzing you, and for some reason this works through every form of resist, absorb, and reflect possible.

The remaster is easier. Level ups have been buffed in your favor. Some skills have been reworked in your favor.

I don't know if i would say that, Tried my first character as a warrior and just the sheer speed at which you level up made it so I was hilariously out-gunned quickly. By level 15 I still only had 50s in my primary combat style and this was just playing the game "the dev intended way" not even a matter of inefficient leveling.

Think they could have done more to even out some of the level scaling since they went ahead and messed with the level system itself.
Also unless you use the drain skill 100 points on self to train a skill past 100 or get a massive amount of jail time you will NEVER reach 100 in every stat. Level caps at 44 if you don't train skills beyond 100. Even taking luck as a primary stat you will still come up 2 short.
If you get a skill to 100 ASAP and use training every single level you will just barely reach level 51.
I'm not sure if it was planned that way or not but feels like a massive oversight to not give enough xp even with all of your skills maxed out to not also cap your attributes without using what some consider a 'bug'.

Play the original. It’s a lot easier to make a base build or mess up your level ups. This game you can times 5 anything anytime.
Damn autocorrect. Easier to make a bad build.
