If you're having issues, try downgrading drivers to 566.36
Playing on a Lenovo 5i with a 4060 8gb. Downgraded driver to 566.36 (as the entire internet agrees that it is Nvidia's last stable driver) and it fixed every performance issue I was having across the board - Not just Oblivion. Before downgrading, regardless of quality settings, fps would dip into the 20's every 10 seconds like clockwork. Not only that, but if I enabled frame gen, it would count 100+ fps, but it was really blurry/choppy. Downgraded to 566.36, and performance is exactly what I KNEW it should be. Like, I know my modest 4060 laptop isn't exactly a powerhouse, but come on... So if you're reading this, try downgrading. You've got nothing to lose. I didn't use DDU. Just Nvidia's built in "clean install" option, and it worked like a charm. Which begs the question; what the fudge is going on at Nvidia?

I never upgraded from 566.03, and this game runs excellent for me.

I figure I don't ever upgrade my display driver unless something's broken or doesn't work.

I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I hadn't. Never again. So hopefully once Virtuos patches the game up it'll be even better because I still get some traversal stutters in the open world, but it's bearable.

Was 566.36 before the nvida gpu temperature issues in the driver? I don't remember the time frames.
