If you think this is confusing elder scrolls 2 or 3 would give you an aneurysm with the complexity of both character creation, gear and dungeons.
Nah dude its just terribly poor game design for the sake of lacking creativity.
No its just you not having the attention span to figure out basic puzzles (most of which are spelled out for you and so simple I was able to figure them out as a kid without internet access back in the day).
If you are really having problems look up the answer, most of them are quite simple.
Especially when compared to elder scrolls 2-3.
