How much was this playtested?
Because, as much as I love it, it sure doesn't seem like it was bug/play tested very much. The list of quest-breaking, visual, audio, UI, crashing bugs and god knows what else is LONG on https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Remastered_Bugs (UESP). I understand open-world games are difficult to get exactly right, with perfect stability and with everything working right. But look at RDR2, look at The Witcher 3, look at any non-Bethesda open-world game and compare the stability. The argument that Beth was trying out new techniques or the tech was old may have held water in 2006 when the OG came out, but not now. Virtuous should have extensively playtested this, far more than they did, to catch some of these egregious bugs like quests breaking, NPCs glitching out of existence, voice lines randomly ending, Oblivion gates opening before they should, etc. It's almost like this was rushed out the door far too quickly to make a buck, yet development started in 2021. Look, I have 100+ hours in this. I love it. But for the love of god, why is it OK to simply accept broken code nowadays when other studios can get similar games right on the first try?

Probably a ♥♥♥♥ ton....

As much as I like those games you have to admit Beth games have a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton more stats, caves and items...it's a different type of beast entirely

You also have to remember that crunch time for The Witcher 3 was slavery for people on salery...it was a great game tho

RDR 2 was cute and riddled with detail but the gameplay was severely lacking

This isn't a new game. They had 17 years worth of community documentation of just about every little broken thing in the game, and fixed none of it while putting even more issues on top of those.

As did I..but there are more moving parts in Oblivion than RDR 2...hence the engine hence the bugs...Oblivion offers a different approach to gameplay outside of follow the GPS line...also you can create a character...

Honestly, was getting those challenges really engaging? I played it once and after knowing how the story turns out...it's really a dead game.

People wanna ♥♥♥♥♥ but people are still buying Beth's ♥♥♥♥ for a reason...

♥♥♥♥ they just sold everyone horse armor again...
