Vampirisms effect on skills and attributes
I dont have a clear memory on what happens in the original and if there is a way around this however my game didn't tell me when I got vampirism in the remastered one. As a result (I am min maxing my characters (I think 51 or so I forgot) my characters attributes went up to 120 and 100 for the ones who get buffed (two were not maxed at 100 yer), and some skills like sneak are stuck at 117 (without vampirism it's 97) or (mysticism is 100 but it's really 80).

Does anyone know how to combat this without curing vampirism in the remaster and without console commands, mods, or editors? I have made spells to decrease sneak and other skills and spells for decreasing attributes before I level and it does not work for allowing me to put more attributes until it reaches 100 (so it will say 120 or whatever when the effect wears off of the spells). It wont let me level those skills anymore either (I WANT 100 on all attributes and skills before I get the vampire bonuses) SO how to do this, do I have to cure my character???? (can't get it again in the remaster either)

You must have missed it, but the game tells you about having contracted porphyric hemophilia in the top left corner it’s easy to miss, just a small popup.

I let others more vampire experts answer your main question as i always avoid to be a vampire in Oblivion, i don't like sun damage :)

Well i can tell you what i found on google.

The vampirism bonuses are active bonuses, not permanent increases, so your skills and attributes are essentially 'artificially' boosted while you're a vampire.

Sounds to me the exact problem you’re describing: you hit the cap (100) with the bonus, and the game won’t let you level that skill or attribute anymore, since it sees it as already maxed.

Again, dont take it as true, as it's a random post i found on reddit.

time to re roll or use console commands.

even the lowest level vampire gives these bonuses as a +5.

You can try some mods so you dont lose out on getting achievements if you try console commands. Next time try to carry at least 1 cure disease with you and try to keep a look out for the pop up and it shows up in the active effects in your magics tab.

Edit: Yes once you cure it you can't go back to being a vampire.

Also, be sure to make a back-up of your save folder before heading down that path, in case something corrupts.
It's clear you didn't read my post because it says without mods or editors and console commands.

You didn't read my post because the first thing I said was to re-roll.
and I gave options that could save you from losing out on achievements, I guess reading is hard ?
You can use console commands like "player.setav" to solve it, just open up the console with the tilde (~) key, and make the attributes whatevere you like! :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:

You don't read do you.
Drain spells will work for trainers, if you want to get 100 but I'd just cure vampirism, it's easy enough to get again if you want it later on and if you have deepscorn hollow fully upgraded then it's REALLY easy to get/remove. Tho there is a single reason to hold off on anything regarding Deepscorn Hollow, it has a levelled item in it from full upgrade.

You cant get back Vampirism after curing it.

Have you tried damaging your main stats with potion OP? Chuck permanent damage potion and sleep. Another is try enchanting equipment with drain. As for skills no point of getting it pass 100 anyway I dont remember sneak has any effect pass 100. The only one that isnt is athletic and Acrobatics. Otherwise sorry cant think of anything but if that trigger your OCD just install that achievement enabler mod and use console command to fix it.

The absolutely easiest option, and the only one that seems to meet your requirements, is to reload a save from before you became a vampire and cure the disease with a potion or at a chapel.

If you're unwilling to use any of these, then your best option is to either start a new character (as already suggested) or cure your character of vampirism (and live with the fact that you can't contract it again).

Second easiest way to "fix" this issue is for you is to use console commands, as has already been suggested.

Unless they specifically changed this in the remaster, no, you cannot contract vampirism again after curing it. You can get the vampirism disease, but you won't turn into a vampire after 3 days, and it'll just act as a regular disease.

It works and it works in the orignal. anyway take care.

Do you have a reference for that? Because that sounds like a mod.

I distinctly remember that not being an option in the OG on PS3, but maybe PC was different. UESP doesn't have any info on becoming a vampire again. All the DB guy does is give you the vampire's disease, and it won't progress after you've cured yourself.
