Have to press escape to leave menus?

I noticed that I can't leave the inventory or any other menu without hitting escape and i'm wondering if there's any way to rebind that or avoid having to exit that way. I play on the right side of the keyboard (I dunno why this became a habit) and it's inconvenient to reach across and press escape to exit menus. Any help would be appreciated, though I doubt there's a solution on this one.

I would just play with a controller but i'm going archer and a controller isn't gonna fly for that :)
