Cannot move after closing Oblivion Gate
Ok, early in the game, came upon my first Oblivion Gate and closed it, and then when I reappear in the world, my character can't move at all other than rotating left and right. In fact, I revert to a pseudo first-person view and a scamp is attacking me that appears to be GIANT. I've tried restarting, tried going back to an earlier save just before closing the gate, etc., same issue.

This also happened to me earlier in the game, after delivering the amulet of kings. I left the priory and also couldn't move. Tried all sorts of things and nothing worked, even tried an earlier save, fast traveled to the priory, then ... couldn't move again.

Any ideas? This is ridiculous. Console command that helps with this?

This happens ocassional its a clipping issue in where it places you after the gate vanishes. Sometimes you can jump free otherwise its a save game reload I'm afraid. The origional game also seemed to sometimes have this issue to as I remember.

That sounds like part of the jank from the original /s

Yeah, I've tried reloading and it's the same thing. I loaded two saves previous to where I was, progressed through in a different route, got the stone, closed the gate ... and right back in the area where I can't move. Jumped my ass off ... nothing. Searching for this problem did indeed bring up posts from many years ago with the original game doing the same thing. Various suggestions, nothing worked yet.
If the area is clear of enemies use fast travel to escape clipping issues. If there are enemies try using AoE spells as they go through terrain and affect clipped enemies.

Thanks, I'll try to deal with the scamp and then fast travel. I'm pretty early in the game and really only have fireball as a decent spell, but we'll see. I currently can't fast travel because of the enemy present.

If you need to you should be able to kill the scamp with the console. Can probably move yourself as well but killing the scamp is less prone to problems. Just make sure you install an achievement unblocked if you care about such things.
