But i don't trust Microsoft, XBOX, Bethesda, nor Virtuos, for doing a good job at that, they're gonna make it bad.
Aside from having to give all the characters behaviors and AI they would have to give better movement skeleton to a lot of stuff and actually add voice acting.
Unless they want it to be more niche they would also likely need to change the combat, a lot of people just cannot handle the hit chance being RNG.
And this is before all the things people would complain are "problematic" they would likely have to change.
Modders have mostly remastered it already via mods so I would just stick with that because I doubt they would be willing to do all that when things like fallout 3 would be so much easier to remaster.
Eh Square Enix proved otherwise with their pixel remasters. They sold just fine. Hell Mario and such sells millions without much voice at all.
They're obviously doing Hammerfell/Highrock tho...I'd prefer Elsweyr/Valenwood..maybe before I die..maybe
Everything else I want the same.

Bethesda is in no shape currently to produce a good game, much less a good remake (which Morrowind would have to be due to heavily outdated systems).
They'd end up destroying the legacy of their best game. I'd rather see another ~10 years pass, and them either waking up or selling the IP to a studio that will do it justice.
