I love Oblivion - Boycott Nintendo
I love Oblivion. However, Nintendo is trying to destroy gaming as a whole by claiming patent infringement for game mechanics. This dangerous precedent would ruin indie gaming development and would be the Dark Ages of gaming, where big companies can fight you in court because you used "left click to move your character to a location on a 3D game world" or "WASD keys to move a character." - This type of lawsuit over game mechanics has major implications that will destroy indie game development. I believe most game developers started out as indies once upon a time, many many years ago when gaming wasn't big. These companies have forgotten where they came from. Teach them a lesson. Boycott Nintendo.

You do know you can connect an XBox controller to your PC, right? And that this remaster actually supports it this time? No dice? What a drag.
Please post here again when Nintendo is broken
See you in 50 years

Don't worry, the Switch 2 prices makes the boycott veeeeery easy to accomplish.
While I agree with the OP with what Nintendo is doing to Palworld, it's a bit out of place here. It has little to no connection to Oblivion.

However, Nintendo has such a vast number of diehard fans, that a slight drop in sales won't change them. They need another WiiU disaster or equivalent. They need to actually sue Rockstar and stop development of GTA 6 or something with such BS to get enough backlash to really effect them.

But the best thing is to just not buy any more of their lackluster products.

This is really in reference to the Palworld lawsuit and others like it.

The point and message of this post is that this lawsuit affects ALL games everywhere. Game mechanics must be a publicly accessible concept, not to be patented or copyrighted. It is dangerous precedent to allow any company to “own a game mechanic” because there are already a finite number of options set by programming limitations and it limits and stifles creativity. This hurts everyone.

Firstly: You haven't done your homework as courts have time and again thrown out lawsuits pertaining to control schema. You can trademark features but not base mechanics.

Secondly: The hell does this have to do with Oblivion?

I second this- WHAT does Oblivion remastered have ANYTHING to do with nintendo? Is the OP threader simply throwing random worsds on the wall to see what 'sticks'?
I mean I was going to buy a Switch 2 with the on-cartridge physical CDPR are releasing of Cyberpunk 2077+Phantom Liberty, but I wasn't expecting to see it come up in a discussion of Oblivion: Remastered :steammocking:
