Master difficulty is ridiculous.
I expected it to be hard but getting 1-2 shot by stunted scamps and bandits is stupid, It also takes like 10-15 hits from a bow, spell or melee weapon just to kill a single enemy.

I've finished the majority of souls games multiple times and this sh** is literally 10x harder, call it skill issue or whatever but you can't deny you feel like you're hitting enemies with toothpicks.

Master Difficulty is the 'abuse the most OP magic and items as best as you can' setting, trying anything else on it is going to be a bad time. Would only play it if you know the game inside and out.

Master difficulty is meant to be ridiculous. It's not to demonstrate your pro gamer skills, it's to demonstrate your game breaking character building skills. Things like 100% damage reflect builds, 100% chameleon builds. You probably need to use alchemy for both buffing potions and poisons. You need to use enchantments strategically. There's a whole bunch that goes into it beyond just hitting without getting hit, although that's still important. If you're just looking to play the game as intended then just keep the difficulty at adept or normal or w/e they call it.
You need better gear and skills. Early game is maybe too hard. But its doable. More info you have what tools you can use, more easy game become.
puts game on hardest difficulty -> complains about it

I mean, if you crank up the difficulty and you are not prepared, yes.
That said, master difficulty is perfectly doable, if you don't try it at level 1. Gather some gear before.

I really wish games learned from old titles like F.E.A.R., why can't they just make the AI SMARTER on higher difficulties? Have them ACTUALLY USE POTIONS, have them encircle you, try to kite you the same way we kite them, lay traps for you if they are thieves or assassins, keep the health pool the same, damage output the same but just make them smart and actually use everything at their disposal - i just had to clear a cave full of necromancers, and EVERY SINGLE ONE had like 10, TEN, Health potions on them. Hello???
USE THEM! Nope - for how good the games look, the AI is more braindead than ever and every single genre, game, you name it does the same - turn enemies into sponges and give you a noodle for a weapon.

Naw, melee is super doable and so are bow speed builds without doing more than kiting sometimes and picking your fights wisely. Like you don't have to go super cheese builds, that just makes master easy. You can get through without spell crafting or broken items and its not too bad.

I do 100% agree tho that master difficulty is just a "how well do you know oblivion jank?" test.
im level 35 and master has gotten way too easy and 'boring'. Might do an adept playthrough on level 1 or something. Granted to run into some difficult fights i imagine. But is super a$$ either way it feels like lol. Just play for the story, master aint a big deal

Are you kidding me? AI ALWAYS uses potions.
OP, it's not the same type of difficulty as the souls games....It really not so much of an arpg but an rpg....You have to use alchemy, level up a proper build and make sure your using your green magic...

Just play on normal....Personally, I refuse to use the menu system that much

the only issue i had with master difficulty was that in certain quests the npcs involved would get killed by their own stupid mistakes.

that one dark elf and his knight who survived the oblivion gate in what? Chorrol i think?

"you do the fighting and we'll follow behind you" - is such a lie.

the very second you agro anything, dumber and dumbest decide to charge at them and get humbled immediately lmao.

"looks like dumbest is dead, better go grab his ring to prove to his father"

even worse when he decides to jump in front of a high powered magic spell i just sent at the enemy and gets himself killed by my own attack lmao.

that's it: that's the only problems i have with master difficulty, the friendly AI is too stupid for it.

Exactly the opposite. As a lvl 1 your skills still increase so fights will only get easier

Difficulty settings are basically broken in vanilla find the mod called difficulty slider, and used that.
Lower the difficulties.. The game is designed to be played on adept.
