Vile Lair Crimson Eviscerator weapon scailing question.
When do weapons like Crimson Eviscerator get their leveled stats? Is it when you see it the first time? Enter the room? The building itself? I don't want to be stuck with the lowest level version of that dagger.

can i claim the player home and goto shrine or dagger box later?

According to UESP, the level of the weapon is set when you first download/activate the Vile Lair DLC. Meaning GOTY 2006 version would pretty much be always the lowest level.

That said, a change in Remastered is that the DLC seem to not activate until you interact with them, Shivering you get the quest for the door when you get to the island, as an example. I would say that when you first enter the player home, and have the quest added to your quest book, thats when it activates. It used to add the quest on a new character but not anymore.

It worth mentioning that the max level version is level 30, however the dagger itself works on a leveled list. Meaning at level 30, you have a 50% chance to get the level 30 version, or a 50% chance to get the 25-29 version.

All this based on the wiki page for Vile Lair and its information.

there is a mod to scale your gear with your level. I wish they would make it a dummy you could put specific gear on to scale like the NotN gear, im really considering it. The only reason why I haven't yet is because I'm playing stealth archer and the best bow in the game can be found in an oblivion realm that you can access multiple times, so I can go back and get it a 3rd time (yes 3rd) and get the highest level version legitimately, but that doesn't help my short sword and dagger I've had since like level 5

I will stay away from the lair till I hit 30. I checked it out at 15 seen 5 damage, Reloaded much earlier save will return. Good information.

same, im only using m to close map and automatic local map, huge QoL for me lol. I don't like game changing mods usually, but gear not scaling with your level should have been changed for this remake.

Feel free to use whatever mods you like, but I discovered yesterday that the scroll meter on the side of the map has a dot for the local map, if you click it it zooms to local without having to scroll all the way in.
