it just shows thy were more concerned about the culture war then thy were about actual properly remaking the game
Because if you give the little finger, they take the hand, and than the arm, and than you completely. Yes this body type crap is just an irrelevant minor nuisance not worth it. But on the other hand, everything evil start just like that. One tiny winy slice at a time until it is too late to realize, what you gave into.
But I just dont get Why everyone is so angry?
And what about the guy who made the Unoffial Oblivion Patch? Why do people hate him so much?
Not only "two lines of text", they also changed armour for females to look more like male. This game does that. Then next "big" game does same and it goes on. Eventually completely overtake the world like a parasite.
The problem is that the person who created the patch forced content on people in Skyrim (if not just OG oblivion, as they have been around for a while), as they would bundle the Skyrim Unofficial Patch with something like "Add decrepit Oblivion gates to Skyrim".
That then resulted in mod developers using the patch in their builds, to also make room for the extra content they had no actual control over. And you might say "well wait - couldn't they just, IDK, take the gates out?"
Yes - they could have. The issue with that however was that the mod creator then started essentially "DMCAing" the authors claiming that they modified his work, and apparently also did some scummy stuff to Nexus directly which forced them into a corner (this might have been over-exaggeration though from the article I was reading).
The worst part (that I actually don't even fully blame them) - was when Nexus started the "Collections" system (as this guy had a bad habbit of flipping the table and erasing their mods - but it is their mods... so...), he again blew his lid and deleted everything he published at the time so nobody could have it (as the collections would make it impossible to really delete).
TL:DR - I sorta get it, as the guy is a bit scummy; but honestly? Give him a break. Dude probably does this for free; if he wants to delete something he created, that's his right. Being able to use mods is an extreme luxury when you consider playing games alone is already one.
And if people don't like the content he "forced" on them - then too bad. Make your own fix.
