Sneaking problems never experienced in the original?
So, I've been playing it on Game Pass, so no hours shown here etc, but is anyone else here running in to major issues in stealth missions which never really occurred in the original game?

Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild missions requiring stealth just seem to be near impossible, because people are constantly in the right position to see you the second you enter an area... An example being the mission to get the countesses ring.

I have tried sneaking in every which way, but the second I enter the private location, the guard is loading at the door spots me instantly. I've tried using the wait mechanic, I've tried waiting physically, etc. It's as if he only loads in to start his patrol 'after' I enter the area and he immediately sees me.

I think one time I managed to load in without him being there out of about 20 reloads so far and instead, I took one step, immediately got seen and he came running to me from 3 rooms away to arrest me, so it's as if his load point was still registering at the entrance regardless...

This has happened to me consistently on just about every single mission requiring any stealth and it's completely killing any enjoyment for the game, so just want to know if this is something I am just having serious bad luck on, or if others are hitting the same problems?

(Just to clarify, I've been playing stealth characters in TES games since Morrowind, I do understand how it works and I have never experienced this before. Seems like an engine problem to me, potentially the introduction of UE5)

For the countess' mission you must go to the castle basement and open the secret door that leads near the rooms, in the basement you will find a barrel that contains a lever that opens the door.
I'm playing agent so stealth is my bread and butter also. It's been over a decade since I played the original so there's a lot I've forgotten, or it's been coming back to me in droves.

That said, I did the tax collector quest from the thieves guild last night. All was going well until on the way out when passing the sleeping quarters. One of the soldiers was awake and immediately said something along the lines of "hey! You're not supposed to be here!" Not gonna lie, I thought my goose was cooked! However, I was fortunate enough to have recently purchased the charm spell. In a panick I popped it on the guard staring me in the face and it worked! He stood there like a chump, giving me time to make my escape.

As I was fleeing into the night I was unsure if the guards would be after me or not. After all, the sleeping guard had seen me, but he was chilled out due to the charm spell. In the end, none of the guards wanted to bust me. So the charm spell worked like, well, a charm! 😁

I don't know if they've changed things up a bit on stealth missions, but there's certainly ways around it
For me its different. Stealth is no problem in the new game, but was a HUGHE problem for me in the og
I was so scared for the stealth missions
but now stealth is my favorit thing because its so stupid XD

Honestly, I think part of the problem may be that running it through UE5 might have changed up how the NPC patrols work. It's absolutely immersion breaking though :\.

Tbh, that one I do recall only having to reload a couple of times. I think I did keep getting seen as again, every time I loaded a guard was there and awake, but I think I just ran. The last time I did it, I got seen but before he could collar me, I clicked the door and it never added a bounty.

For that, I absolutely remember doing it by just going through the door in the original game and stealthing to her chamber at night. I didn't even know the entrance from the basement was a thing... May give that a try though, cheers.
4x 25% Chameleon items. Try it.

Aside from cheesing with 100% Chameleon, Sneaking in the remaster is affected by the weight of your boots and sometimes entire outfits depending on the item, as referenced by this reddit post:

Best sneaking is done barefoot or with the 1 weight pair of shoes that can be obtained by getting arrested.

Easiest way to get these boots with no infamy is to go to get arrested in Shivering Isle's towns and get thrown into jail. You don't get infamy in Shivering Isles.

There are enemies in the cave so you will want sneak ability or magic skills like conjuration/destruction or invisibility potions/spells.

I did the Mage Guild first to get the invisibility spells. That makes the Thieves Guild much easier, or you could use potions.

People are in certain places during their daily routines and might even take entirely different routines on certain days or weekends.

Guards can often be poked for information on when and where people are sometimes for instance a guard might let you know 'so-and-so dines at such-and-such at 8pm" then you know they won't be in a place they can see you.

They made stealth feel like actual stealth in this one. The odds of being seen is based on the lighting and the weight of your armor (light is easier to sneak in). Make sure you are not near any sources of light. If worse comes to worst; you can always use invisibility.

dude i can stealth until i'm within 15 cm of an enemy and kill one right next to another and the second doesn't notice.

which game are you playing?

You didn't actually take anything I said onboard did you lol? What I am saying, was that the guards are constantly FACING the door when I spawn into a new area, so the moment I am trying to do a mission needing stealth, there is always a guard in the way.

If you're trying to imply you can sneak up to a guard facing you that close, within the first 2 hours of the game, I call bs.
