Direct X Problems
Hello,
When I try to play Oblivion, a message pops up which reads: "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument." However, when I check the DirectX Diagnostic Tool on my PC, it says that the DirectX Version is DirectX 12. Am I doing something wrong, or is the game being buggy? Thank you in advance.

What graphics card do you have?

Hello. According to Steam, my Video Card is a Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630.
That's a very weak integrated graphics solution that uses half your system memory as VRAM instead of having real VRAM. It does support DX12 so the error message isn't accurate.

However it is very much below mimum spec for this game and isn't going to enable you to play it.

What other components are you using? Is it a laptop?

No, it's a desktop, though an older one. 32 GB of RAM. I bought it without checking the requirements so it's just my fault I guess. Apparently the Unreal 5 engine is more than my PC can handle.

When I launch Oblivion Remastered, this is what it tells me:

*Sorry, your system does not meet the minimum requirements to play TESIV: Oblivion (Remastered). Click OK to proceed the launch, but it could run with issues.

*-CPU (Your CPU has 4 logical processors, the game requires 6 or more)

*-Memory (Your system memory is 15GB, the game requires 16GB or more)

-My PC-
16GB RAM 3000 MHz
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.70 GHz
8GB Radeon RX Vega

And yet my bucket of a PC can run this game perfectly fine. I tweaked the Settings a bit and I get no lag, no stuttering, no crashes, and load screen is quick. I'm 90+ hours in, and no problems at all.
I am having exact same problems got ryzen 7 5800x 64g of ram and 4060, completely dumbfounded

Unreal 5 is a beast, I mean it looks great when used properly but games like this using all it's bells and whistles graphicly are a pain.

If it's a desktop can you fit a more modern graphics card? You don't need to go crazy on ahigh end card. I got a 3060 last year and it runs thos fine on ultra.

I could probably do that yes. Thank you for all of your help; I appreciate it.
No problem.

It doesn't support 64bit integer atomics from Feature Level 12_1, so the message is still accurate, just that there's more nuance that goes into DX as a whole, it also pops up if your system doesn't support DX12 Agility SDK.

If so, either your Windows or your Nvidia drivers are out of date.

Vega graphics does support that feature i mentioned above, Intel graphics older than ARC do not.
