i might be dumb asking this but when weapons and amour are they just less ineffective but you cant still use them normal but their gonna deal less damage and provide less protection ?

You still can use them even if they're "broken", but their damage/resistance will be really low. Anyway, it doesn't cost much keeping items at full health with repair hammer and merchants repair service.

If you get Castle Battlehorn from the start and invest in the dwarven forge, it gives you +15 armourer skill when standing near to it. It is normaly enough to repair magical armour with a repair hammer. So with that and repair hammers you can repair all gears, and you also get quick skillup to the point you can do it in the wild.

frostcrag spiral allll the waay tho :skull_angry:
Armor rating is multiplied by it's health. So if an armor piece has 20 Armor at 100% health it nets 20 x 1.0 Armor.. at 0% health it would be 20 x 0.0 so 0 armor provided, 50% 20 x 0.5 so 10 armor.. this is also why armorer is good to level up as you can repair a gear up to 125 making the calculation 20 x 1.25 so 25 Armor.
The same is applied for weapons.
Enchantments are uneffected by the health of the armor and weapon.

wooaah mabye i shouldnt payed attention in math class throwing numbers at me lool.
It depends how you build your character. In my case, I'm a BattleMage with Destruction, Light Armor, Marksman and Blades, so dealing damage is my main purpose.

However, keep a good amount of poisons in your inventory. If you use them you can deal a lot of additional damage, as earlier enemies are weak to poison.
