I don't think they've even mentioned any kind of performance patch any time soon.
Why do people keep asking this?

You buy a game AS-IS without any guarantee of any patches being made or promised. That means you are at their mercy and timetable if they ever want to release a patch.

That they have been radio silent means they aren't going to be releasing one soon or maybe ever.

Also, literally asked this same thing as someone else, same applies:

Don't buy games that are broken on release like MH: Wilds and pals if you don't like the performance -- that might be what you are stuck with. MH: Wilds is still a bad game as far as performance is concerned :steamhappy:

No, there is no information on when they will release any type of patch.

If your expecting a sudden double of performance rate or something through a patch i think your going to be very disappointed when a patch does come out.

Game is running OK with my 4070ti but in world there are FPS drops.. etc.. that are a little annoying just thinking susch a big company would want a more stable game , but the future will tell, and no not my first time with a Bethesda game :Johnny2:

There probably will never be an official fix.
The developers are evidently 100% incompetent, when it comes to UE5.
They just use it, but did not bother to really get into that engine.

Also they obviously did no actual performance testing and optimization at all.
They did not even grab the low hanging fruits.

And since this was a commissional work, the team who did this remaster will be completely gone, once the contract is over. And obviously Bethesda won't get into this mess as well.

I really regret supporting this.
Just had a weak moment, when I impulse bought the game.
(Did not expect it to run so terribly bad of course.)
With respect uHu such contracts would usually have some sort of early life support/patch production clause. But since neither of us has access to the contract no one knows.

There was clearly a patch produced for the game pass version of the game all be it with some quality control issues itself.

Sure. But don't expect it to run super long. In the end every additional month will cost Bethesda money.

I think there's a much higher probability for proper support, when such a remaster is done inhouse.

Nah it doesn't, you just don't notice the lag and stuttering.

You think with BGS history of patching their games (or not)??? Their motto is modders will fix it.

Honestly there is a far higher chance of the contractors fixing stuff. But only the stuff they worked on so not all the quest bugs BGS never fixed in the original game they handed over for remaster.

They have in fact already posted info saying some crash bugs they are aware of and will fix in a future patch. Like the making potions too quickly crash.

With the following settings it runs "ok" on my PC as well:
- 1080p (full screen)
- Lumen Disabled by ini
- DLSS
- Textures on Medium
- Global illumination on Low
With ReShade it also looks "ok".

Still some stuttering here and there, but "fine" to play.
Not acceptable, but playable ...
It runs fine after I get into the options and open the display settings. Then I get between 43 to 130 FPS, but the game starts with around 1 FPS, as the game shows only one frame, then gets stuck for 5 seconds before the next frame.

It's hard to play the game with less than 1 FPS, and I don't understand why opening the options menu and the display settings fixes this.

The problem is that since I get a maximum of 1 FPS at startup, I can't get any feedback on whether the game registered that I pressed anything.

I have to use third-party apps to visually move the cursor to the correct position to click, because the options menu can't reach the display settings using the A and D keys—unless I’ve already opened the display settings window once.

So Steam FPS Count show 1, the game show 0 FPS

Is this a common bug?

The problem is people fixate on FPS for no reason and on micro stuttering.

I may sound like the old man screaming at the ocean but the majority of players get mad because they are letting the perfect get in the way of the good. No game runs flawlessly. It's not about lowering your standards, its about excepting reality.

Its sorta the same thing that gets made fun of in Seinfeld (yes I am old) Jerry meets a supermodel and decides she isn't the one because she eats her peas with a fork.
I love how these threads pop up all the time while this is the reality:

- The original game ran 10x worse for its era. You literally needed 8800 GTX, the top of the line GPU of that time, just to slog through at ~30 fps @ 1080p. Nowadays, people complain instantly if they go down to 59.9 fps.
- The original game stutters MORE than this one on 9800X3D.
- Please realize that this game is actually a Frankenstein monster of UE5 and the original 20 year old Gamebryo engine with little to no changes. Yes, it matters.
- Stop thinking that your x70 / x60 "should" be maxing this out. You can and should lower at least foliage and shadow quality to "High" and instantly get ~30% extra performance for no perceivable quality loss.
- You can install the engine tweaks mod to get rid of stuttering, although it isn't necessary to use it.
- If you are still stuttering and having poor performance despite trying all of the above, and despite lowering detail settings appropriately, it's your system, not the game.

Proof: Here is my frame time graph: https://imgur.com/a/d9hPHfS
Settings are all ultra except foliage and shadows (high), 1440p, DLSS Quality, HW Lumen on Ultra.
This is with frame generation on btw (which should be increasing stutters according to internet experts but isn't, not really).
